Hyper-charismatic superman made from the genetics of history's greatest warriors would work great in like, any comic universe.
Imagine him like, having a whole arc where he charms the pants off of all of Red Skull's guys and red Skull is trying to kill him out of jealousy.
or He like, has lunch with Doctor Doom and the good Doctor is mad about how energetic and happy he is
Or hell, just him having a rivalry with Nick Fury or Captain America

The Order of the Blackened Denarius from the Dresden Files. Hell take over the Knights of the Cross as well.

As much as I like Khan, would he really work as a recurring comic book villain? In the original "Space Seed" episode he debuted in, he was mostly just another ho-hum Villain of the Week.

What made him so awesome in "Wrath of Khan" was his burning vendetta against Kirk, but that only happened because he had been marooned and his wife had died. So unless you keep repeating the "Khan's revenge" plotline Khan won't be an interesting character. But if you do, the story's going to get really stale after awhile.

>>94545300
yeah, pretty much the only option would be cheap bane knock-off
>>
>>94545332
I suppose you could do something with him trying to rescue his fellow superhumans, but J.J. Abrams already did that with Star Trek: Into Darkness.

The basic problem is that Khan is a movie character. He's meant to have a beginning, middle, and end; and his motives and personality largely derive from the particular plot of the movie he's in. He's not meant to keep going on and on through years of comic books.

>Batman villain

Use to be a detective for the GCPD.Left because of the firms corrupted ways and inaction. His resentment stemmed from seeing the body of a dead family. The perpetrator was someone who he apprehended and the courts gave him leave for a plead of insanity.

Blames Gotham's current dilemmas on a wishy washy and complacent rulings. Comes at odds with Batman when he and his organization are liberating several low and high profile criminals from prisons and murdering GCPD forces as well. Sensui unlike Ra's Al Ghul doesn't want to reform the world anew or persecute the wicked. Instead he wants the wicked to roam free, believing it is the base desire of all humans, not just law breakers. He also questions Batman's self righteousness and views it as arrogance and selfishness on his part that he sees himself above human temptations and letting more innocents be butchered by mad men like the Joker. In essence, he thinks Batman sees his own code as being above greater good.

However, Sensui is at his core a pure individual so his mind was fractured when he was force to relinquish his once altruistic and straight forward justice after witnessing the tragedy he had to suffer from. In other words, he's the best example of a what the Joker in Killing Joke described, one bad day.

The Reapers in general, at least prior to them being ruined by ME3. Sure, there are a fuckton of "cosmic space horror" villains in comics, but none quite like the Reapers, or at least none with their particularly chilling techno-menace. They'd fit in well in either cosmic Marvel or cosmic DC. In DC you could have them be one of the many horrors the Guardians defeated at the dawn of the universe, but now they're back.

did they rip off the Gah Lak Tus? did the Gah Lak Tus rip them off?
are they both ripoffs of Saberhagen's Berserkers but aren't hated the same way because they're not portrayed as a bunch of retarded pussies incapable of winning no matter what?

Well, I mean, yeah. Execution is half the battle. Sovereign and Harbinger are both super-effective as villains in large part because they're presented well.
>>
>>94545561
He couldn't work in a Big 2 context, but he could still work as a cape villain. Either have him in the Eugenics Wars setup, where he's a warlord, or in a post-war setting trying to find the scattered augments and band them together.
>>
>>94547465
what indie capes could you see him fighting? all I can think of is maybe Judge Dredd...which could be fun

I know it's come up before, but the early version of the "Dark" Yugi from Yugioh was basically a magical Mysterio who would send people to mental wards after ripping their minds apart and showing them horrible visions of Dante-esque punishments. Or just outright killing people. I've always wanted him, or something like him, to fuck with Batman or Doctor Strange.

Who?
>>
>>94545045
Recent cartoons have had a lot of good villains.

Like the dream/chaos demon, who tries to make contracts to come into the mortal realm.
Or the race of AIs in microcomputers floating on hardlight bodies, who destroy planets in an effort to create new supercomputers.
Or the insane omnicidal alien with a fleet of robots and power armor on top of magma and ice powers.

Not sure if this counts but the Black Flame from the Hellboy/BPRD Universe, that dude and his hems would fuck Shit up in any Universe and them he comes with one of the seven dragons

The big draw with Kahn was Ricardo Montalban. Modern movie actors just don't have the same amount of power to them. The forcefulness, the stage presence, the class. It's like the old style Darth Vader- the living embodiment of unstoppable force just walked on screen. Kahn's half David Zanatos, half Superman. He doesn't need his augmented strength and speed to stop you, you are already dead. All of which is another reason why the JJ Trek reboot was just so godawful bad.
