I could get endless mileage out of various lines from that article.

Twitter is like a window into a madhouse where none of the people inside realize they're not in the real world.

>>94518590
He's a bit self-righteous but he at least does try to give good comics a good start.

I was thinking a while ago that with Marvel returning to "legacy" numbers, low issue numbers no longer matter and #1's will have more meaning. I think Marvel should just offer #1's for free across the board.

They have done similar things a couple times but the fact is most people aren't going to spend $4 on a book they don't know anything about and that doesn't have all their favorite characters on it.

And hey, if they do the thing like that guy's doing and give the #1 for free only when you're buying a related mainstream book, it makes Marvel's shipment numbers inflate and we all know how much they love that.

For me way better than the article itself is the in-real-time reaction to it. Behaviors that objectively no one would consider healthy, that the article identifies, are being used in response to it. Doubling down forever with no self awareness.

The whole us vs. them dynamic and the performative aspect of social grief, hurt and anxiety is so disturbing online. And not at all linked to like, specifically YA or social justice (very present in anti-social justice as we all know). Some of the people that engage in this are so... *not this* in their regular lives, y'know?

And then tells you you can reach a better orgasm if you do it in a different spot in your room.

Why can't all feng shui be so sexy?
>>
>>94519174
I think Morrison did that for me one time
>>
>>94516831
oh HEY the Caliber comics. This was when I started buying new ones instead of having to hunt down old issues. Good shit, storytimer.
>>
>>94519587
I remember Morrison legitimately asking his readers to wank over a magic sigil to save one of his comics. Maybe that's where we've been going wrong.

Hey, I've been doing my part. What's YOUR excuse?

Given that DC's most recent collections move was to cancel the Hawkworld (vol. 2) trade....
>>
>>94520055
aw, really? I fucking knew it
>>
>>94520055
Shit, just how powerful is Ostrander's contract?
I found out in another thread that the Books of Magic ongoing series reprint/first time collection is apparently cancelled too before the first one even came out
>>
>>94520191
It's kind of a fucked up business model when the books live or die based on pre-orders, but the price you pre-order at is orders of magnitude higher than what it will be at release or shortly after release.
>>
>>94520191
has any of the Piranha Press books ever gotten collected
>>
>>94520262
Not in Canada, ha ha :(
But really, pre-order price is the cheapest things get in Canada, unless you have a good store that is willing to give you the U.S. MSRP as a discount.
>>
>>94520262
I had preordered that collection, too!

Although I also picked up the entire run in singles recently to hedge my bets, so.

These covers are consistently fantastic.

Righ so, in the middle we have this weird ball pit with some tunnels at the bottom and a bunch of weird ass uneven planks.

I assume, the way kids play on this is to climb up to the top and jump into the middle, clambering out of the tunnels after the balls cushion their fall.

And while that sounds like something I would very much enjoy as a child, I feel is important to note, viewed from certain angles the structure kind of look like a skyscraper.
Fucking Somnopolis, this place is preparing it's citizens to kill themselves from fucking childhood.
>>
>>94520602
Now somebody had to have done that on purpose.
>>
>>94520765
Aside from the artist?
Well, if this were real life, I might agree with you. But I have a more chilling theory. The Psychetecture of Somnopolis influenced some poor fuckhead into making it like that.
Guy probably thought he was just making a fun way for kids to get a unique thrill. Not a way to practice their own damn suicide.

Now this is horrifying, because if it can affect people to that degree, how can we be even remotely certain it's not doing the same to other people on a bigger scale.

How can we know that Mr. X isn't following the same path as the guy who designed that playground, trying to break the pattern that makes Radiant City so lethal to live in but instead, unknowingly reinforcing it?

>psychetecture is actually a living entity that propagates itself through subliminally suggesting human minds to create more of it
