Too many factors like, the rise of anime in the West during the 90s, Adult animation like Family Guy, Futurama, and Adult Swim, combined with the success of superhero movies killed the need for modern cartoons. we're currently living in a second dark age of cartoons, maybe even worse than the 1970s and especially with the movies that have come out this year (Smurfs, Spark, The Emoji Movie, Rock Dog, Boss Baby and the upcoming films such as The Nut Job 2 and The Star) yes I can say that we are living in a second dark age of western animation in whch none of the better shows on now (Steven Universe, Star vs The Forces of Evil) can save us from this horrible dreck we're living in (Teen Titans Go, The Powerpuff Girls (2016), Bunsen Is Beast, Billey Dilley, Cloudy, The Mighty Magiswords and more)
