How big is the Galra Empire?

None of the maps they show actually give a good indication.

So since we're talking about Altean Empire reality, here's some topics:

as much as I want him to become a part of the main roster, I think you're probably right. I think there's also a decent chance that Shiro stays with him, and they wind up being a sort of B-plot. Still working with Voltron, but not always directly. Shiro sticking with the team prevents a lot of potential character growth; you can't have the mentor figure there forever.
