That'll be for distribution purposes. The crew were definitely aware ahead of time that it was ending. The last storyboard pitch wasn't until December either, so even if they didn't know s9 would be their last, they would still have some time.

Pleb but understandable opinion. Up until somewhere around season 4 or 5 AT was bustling with energy and charm out the ass with momentum building at an incredible pace, then somewhere in 5 and definitely in 6 things got slower, weirder, and less easily enjoyable.

But AT definitely got back on track with 7 and 8. AT sure as shit isn't the best CN show ever but it's one of the greats, especially if it nails the ending, which I think there's a decent chance they will do. Just cap off Finn's story in a satisfyingly final way and other stuff like Simon and Bubblegum and it'll be fondly remembered.

Shame that CN doesn't give a shit about it anymore but it's about to end anyway so that doesn't really matter much.

RS had the same issue except it got a shittier end- despite a movie the creator had to fight for, S8 wasn't supposed to be its last, they were cancelled mid-way into it and CN had them lie and say everything was fine, they wanted it to end, and that they did everything they wanted, all this and the fact the season was cut down 10 episodes anyway, and the finale aired the day after it finished production, it was rushed like hell.

No matter if you think RS went to shit or if it already was, because people think the same thing for AT but it still has this thread.

The way CN treated AT and RS is surprising, it seemed they were the golden children until that cunt queen decided TTG was the only thing that existed. Finale episodes weren't advertised, crew got the shaft, and there was bad blood everywhere.

It seems AT members stay more open about what happens behind closed doors, yet they haven't said anything that bad.

Lets not pretend the show is the same episodic consequence free romp it started out as, they have lots of plots going on that should be wrapped up, or at least a few big ones and lots of smaller messier ones.

Honestly everything started going to shit after the CN Real bullshit, and Jim Samples stepping down in 2007 after the Boston Bomb Scare was the catalyst. Stuart Snyder and Christina Miller, all of them have written off, shoved off the schedule, and cancelled good shit like Thundercats, Regular Show, Ben 10 Omniverse, Generator Rex, and Megas XLR.

If it wasn't cancelled it was forced to finish by running the shows off at 6 am. Then there's shit like Megas and Sym-bionic Titan that no longer have hope of coming back because some retard wrote em off. Regular Show's finale was preceded by ANOTHER FUCKING TEEN TITANS GO MARATHON and Shrek.

Almost every creator that has had their show finish on Cartoon Network, include Regular Show writers and Derrick J Wyatt, have expressed annoyance or anger at how CN have treated their shows in the end. And for the past few years it's been the same way with Adventure Time, where you can't even tell when or IF a new episode has aired, or is going to air.

Even if the finale isn't gonna be shit, it's not going to the get the grand finish it deserves. Fuck Christina Miller.

If your creator has to wake up in the morning just to promote the final episodes of their show, there's a problem. I never thought it'd come to RS' finale day and there not be some event. It was treated as an average episode of anything else. 1 promo made, no hype social media posts, no marathon, etc.

The marathon thing was the worst, I can at least say they promoted it (in a monkey's paw view, they didn't promote the rest of the season ending episodes at all so out of the loop on lore kids wouldn't be tuning in), but they didn't even marathon S8? It being canned at S9 is sad, I like the series, but it's time to wrap it up. At least be glad you had so many episodes to wrap it up in and that the entirety of the series isn't being rushed off to where the crew can't work fast enough and your show dies in a blink of an eye. RS was canned halfway into S8 and they just barely squished in the finale montage at the last minute and fixed up the episode the time it aired

He wasn't an intern, I can't remember the story but god DAMN if he didn't make the premature hate of RS kickstart. I can't even find it in the archives, just people talking about him in the episode premiere thread (Bad Kiss, bros)

He was very pissed at something that happened and was wanting bridges burned, he kept insinuating that it was the biggest thing ever and figured out a great formula- hype leads to disappointment.

In the end everyone was pissed that Mordecai dropped 3 seasons of development (he didn't) and that our main timeline Rigby was forever stuck in limbo, and the Rigby we were stuck with was an out-of-loop alternate Rigby, because it was implied something would be game changing in this episode and clearly nothing happened.

Ever since S3's finale /co/ has been deadset on kicking RS into the mud, and yea it did get shitty but everyone was fine before Bad Kiss, and the entire thread, as you can find, was everyone crying that shit they were led to believe were true weren't. Very few accurate issues were mentioned. It was a bad night, I was there lurking.

It's a lost point though, after S6 it deserved the hate it got, but it needed the fair shake prior.

I miss the days where RS threads were chill as shit and no one was mad and baiting. It genuinely sucks that was left behind after Bad Kiss. AT fags got mad and then RS fags got emmy lucky and started spamming it (but let's be real, it seemed like an AT fag causing fandom wars) and an unapologetic eileen warrior entered the threads. It was just downhill from there.

I find the fandom really contributed to my fun of the first 2 seasons, it was fucking ace.

Sorry OP, by the way. Tough break, we all get burned by the corporations one day, be glad you're leaning into the revelation with a bad network decision on a cartoon you liked and not automatically getting hit with a big book of reality. Yes, Lich is a single-minded antagonist and he may seem unoriginal and predictable. Nevertheless, he is a character with clear motivation, and he has a very strong personality expressed via visual design, voice acting, actions and speeches.
Bill is just kinda there for the most part of his show. It's not really clear what he wants to achieve and why he does what he does. He's dicking around being all random and funny, constantly doing things that actually go against his goals.
