What about as a feeder for new movies? Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron man were both 3rd rate comic books. Having little kids know the DC mythology would be very useful when they make a Mr Terrific movie or Blue Beetle movie in 10 years.

There's just no incentive for DC or Marvel to make a superhero cartoon. In DC's case, animation is reserved for straight to DVD adaptations of their comics, while Marvel uses low budget animation to advertise their movies.
