I do like these early Hulk stories, the werewolf theme they had going with the monster coming out at night was nice.

Agreed. I also enjoy Grey Hulk's pettiness and paranoia

I think the reason why I love the early Hulk issues is because each issue directly follows up on the other and it feels like there's actually progression involved in terms of Banner's predicament, while other Marvel stories would connect but not by much and only in small ways. Here, Banner takes every chance he can to contain and eventually cure the Hulk, even using him as a force for good, which then sows the seeds for how that eventually will fail.

I ran this back when Banner died. It seriously is impressive how serialized the stories were, moreso than any Marvel comic at the time.
I know people like to attribute everything to Kirby but I think Hulk is classic Lee.

Thanks for the storytime anon.
I know many like to wank over Silver age DC comics as some great era and but compare that to Silver age Marvel? The house of ideas actually had awesome ideas. Seriously silverage marvel was truly an awesome experience to read through when you compare it to DC. No wonder these guys were struggling a bit and had to reboot to save the company.
