Jim Samples first became president of Cartoon Network in late 2001. He did a pretty good job at first, but soon plunged the network into a deep abyss.
He cancelled/removed the following shows:
Sheep in the Big City
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Robot Jones
ToonHeads
The Chuck Jones Show
The Bob Clampett Show
The Tex Avery Show
The Popeye Show
Bugs and Daffy
Megas XLR
Justice League Unlimited
Sailor Moon
Gundam Wing
And replaced them with total and utter crap:
Camp Lazlo
My Gym Partner's a Monkey
Pet Alien
Atomic Betty
Live-action version of Cartoon Cartoon Fridays
Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi
Squirrel Boy
Wulin Warriors
Re-Animated
Baby Looney Tunes
Naruto
Code Lyoko
Totally Spies
What happened? Did he just go senile or something in 2004?

Camp Lazlo and Puffy AmiYumi ain't that bad.
>>94453797
>tfw you know 2005-2008 era of CN sucks but you still have a fondling memory of it because of nostalgia
He went senile
>>94453797
>They're all variants of orange and green
What did they mean by this?
>>94453856
>fondling
Either you're really stupid, or you write a lot of smut on your phone.
Either way, you have my sympathy
>Sheep in the Big City
I will never understand why people liked it.
>>94454333
>he doesn't like to fondle his memories
You should be more sensible anon. Have a heart.
>>94453797
>Cancelled Gundam Wing
You have got some brain problems here. They ran GW prominently for quite a while, but it was just on repeat.
>>94454549
He probably meant Mobile Suit Gundam
>>94453797
My Gym Partner's a Monkey is freaking Patrician!
>>94456318
It's still funny to think that they thought a show that didn't catch on with kids in the 70's would somehow magically appeal to kids in the 00's.
>>94457058
According to Demarco, they wanted Turn A Gundam on Toonami, but Sunrise told them to run MSG, they ran it on Toonami and it flops.
>>94453828
Camp Lazlos only real soon was just being bland/boring. But yeah it wasn't absolute garbage at least.
>>94459449
*Sin
>>94459449
>Camp Lazlos only real soon
What did he mean by this?
>>94454354
It was too deep for you.
>>94461493
Replace "soon" with "sin" and it'll make much more sense.
>>94462789
Nothing makes sense.
>>94453797
ToonHeads needs home video release.
>>94453856
I have fond memories of 2005-2006 CN, because CN City was still there, but not so much 2007-2008 CN. I hated Fried Dynamite replacing Fridays, CN City ending, Johnny Test, and the soccer ball-faced version of Toonami.
Changing tastes, corporate whims.
For instance, Michael Eisner, who ran Disney during the strong 90s Renaissance era, also ran them during the relatively weak period of 2000-2005. People, especially business suits, lose their touch over time.
