Closed after mass shooting.

they saw the futility in educating toons, whom never actually age
>>
>>94449421
Fudd was acquitted, dude. The whole thing was a misunderstanding.
>>
>>94449421
Would shooting GoGo make more GoGos?
>>
>>94449447
Have any of the Tiny Toons appeared in anything in the past decade? Or are they forbidden by some Spielberg embargo?
>>
>>94449372
>>94449447
>>94449477

i really liked the concept of the Looney Toons successors, wish they explored this idea more.
>>
>>94449477

They appeared in a Looney Tunes comic cameo
>>
>>94449477
Pretty sure WB can use the characters whenever, but nobody has wanted to for whatever reason.
>>
>>94449372

The only teachers they can afford today are Johnny Test, Bubsy, some extras from FOP and Carrot Top

As you can see by the list, they can barely afford cartoon teachers

>>94449421

It's a slapstick cartoon comedy school, of course that it would have a mass shooting class
>>
>>94449595
If they could use the characters whenever, they'd at least show up in crowd scenes or in the background, but not even that.
>>
>>94449635
Disney did the same thing to Roger Rabbit. For whatever reason, marketing didn't like him anymore and they phased him out completely.
>>
>>94449530
I liked the characters, they felt alright, like really well done successors, but also managed to add new stuff too, also, pink bunny, don't remember her name was really great female comedic character, and that's not something that is done properly.

This is the only time it's been referenced to in a cartoon aside from the Animaniacs crossovers. It's not much but I'm thankful we even got this little bit.
>>
>>94449696
In fact, i am aware that Sweetie Bird was a side character in the Looney Tunes show

Why Sweetie Bird of all the characters? Fuck me if i know
>>
>>94449635
>If they could use the characters whenever, they'd at least show up in crowd scenes or in the background, but not even that.
Yeah, I covered that in the second part of that sentence- nobody seems to want to.
>>
>>94449477
tiny toons was so 90s that it can't leave the decade
>>
>>94449477
>>94449595
>>94449696

I think that showing them would fight the purpose of the original plot, since that they were being selected to be the new generation of toons

Not tha this would be too dark, but making a joke like "Sorry that you guys never became the new Warner Looney Tunes... But hey! Teen Titans GO took this place!" could be a little too hard to write
>>
>>94449595
>>94449860
I think some of the Looney Tunes purists working on various projects probably don't hold the Tiny Toons in high regard.
>>
>>94449680
Babs
>>
>>94450128

It must be very sad to be a purist about a war-bonds selling brand that had a shoe commercial movie with Michael Jordan and Wayne Knight
>>
>>94450213
don't forget brendan fraser
>>
>>94450231

Hey! He still made at least two movies that gave him dignity before his wife took it from him

Mike Myers in the other hand...
>>
>>94450213
Loonatics was ok...
>>
>>94450370

Loonatics was a ridiculous and stupid concept

The biggest crime of the show was being like any other mediocre 2000's action cartoon and not ridiculous and stupid enough
>>
>>94450370
I remember Loonatics was so controversial that even my local news station reported on how people hated it. Then I watched one episode and got bored.

Were "Bugs" and "Lola" a couple or were they just family?
>>94450471
It looks edgy to me.
>>94450466
No way.
>>
>>94450471

The sad part is that they do look more looney in this Design
>>
If Tiny Toons was made today, who would bet that Elmyra was autistic and Babs would be turned into a straw feminist?
>>
Tiny Toons > Animaniacs

This is fact.
>>
>>94450231
Amazing at how unfunny that movie was. Looney Tunes Roadtrip should write itself with easy comedy, but nope. I unironically laughed more at Space Jam.
>>
>>94449551
savage.
>>
>>94450520

NO RELATION.
>>
>>94450520
I know, but I definitely remember after middle school, then channel surfing until I got bored and watched the local news, they were reporting on Loonatics and asking people in the state what their thoughts were. What was even weirder was that the report was from a local Fox station too.
>>
>>94450547

The quality of both shows was a fucking roller-coaster, the writing could have Ren & Stimpy comedy or Care Bears tier writing depending on the episode

I think that this is what you get when you have a very open and meta setup
>>
>>94450619
I can relate to this. It's fucking annoying when people regard Animaniacs as such a masterpiece while dismissing Tiny Toons. That said, Freakazoid was much better than both.

A lot of the humor comes from references to 1990's celebrities and pop culture. "Welcome to the 90's" was even one of Babs' catchphrases from the show.

I feel like Tiny Toons is in the same boat as Daria. They're extremely 90's shows and can't really work in the modern era if they were brought back. But maybe I'm wrong, how do you think Tiny Toons could work today? What would change besides just giving the characters touch screen cell phones?
>>
>>94450547
>>94450619
I tried rewatching both shows recently, and didn't laugh at all. Which sucked because I was a huge fan of both when I was in elementary school. Most of the other cartoons I watched when I was little can still click for me, but not TT or Animaniacs.
>>
>>94450638
>>94450689

Like Kappa Mickey i was aways mad that they wasted the concept like that, i wanted more episodes about them learning in the academy, not a bazillion of weak tea Looney Tunes episodes and 90's TV parodies

This. The quality is so fucking random. One episode I'm laughing so much it hurts. The next episode I'm falling asleep.
>>
>>94450653
Watch the Rocko's Modern Life reboot to find out.
>>
The Tiny Toons specials are still pretty good.
>>
>>94449551
Savage!
>>
>>94449372
It was terrible. It became school of choice and they started letting in kids from bad neighborhoods and pregnancies went through the roof.
>>
>>94451567

Well, i blame Fifi for this
>>
Would the Looney Tunes Show have worked better if the cast was replaced with grownup versions of the Tiny Toons?
>>
>>94449650
No, they stopped using him because they didn't want to open up that can of worms anymore. The legal battle for the rights for his movie were the stuff of legends. They still use him for the Toontown area in Disneyland, but using him in any sort of cartoon just isn't worth the hassle.
>>
i used to dream about that purple skunk girl when i was a kid.
>>
>>94452311
It definitely could've made people more open to the idea of a sitcom Looney Tune show. The fact that they use the OG cast just sets up an expectation that the show could never live up to. Using the Tiny Toons could've at least had the show be remembered more fondly.
>>
I've always liked the theory that in the new iterations of the looney tunes the characters are really just the kids from tiney toons who have grown up to be actors that play the roles of their predecessors.
so like everytime you see bugs now he's being played by buster. and same thing with plucky as daffy, babs as lola and so on.
it would definitely explain some things like how their personalities seem a bit different these days.

I was gonna say this sounds silly but then I realized I like to consider canon what Walt Disney said about Minnie and Mickey being married offscreen so i guess we're on the same boat.

>>94452578
>remembered more fondly.

I can understand the hate it got when it first aired but how can The Looney Tunes Show be hated even nowdays? sure some of the personalities were different but not their core characteristics and it was a legit funny cartoon.
>>
>>94450370
>mfw I liked loonatics

wasn't the worst spin-off. I hated Tazmania as a kid
>>
>>94450539
But would Fifi be toned down? or would she get the "no slut-shaming"
>>
>>94453256
The show's nowhere as hated as it was originally, but that's due to it being outright forgotten if anything. It rarely gets brought up at all, and since Disney's come in and filled the void on slapstick comedy that the LT have neglected in recent years(Mickey Mouse shorts and Wander), it gets really overshadowed.
>>
>>94450499
Is this a Nutshack crossover?
>>
>>94453313
Her angry feminist side'd probably be played up more.

John K was right about Tiny Toons
>>
>>94450653
The jokes are 90s but the characters themselves are not. Its no different than when you had Bugs dressing up as popular comedians of the 40s/50s.

The larger problem is that the loony toons themselves have problems gaining traction with today's audience. This makes working in the tinys an afterthought.
>>
>>94449680
The characters were literally the Looney Tunes except shrunken and recolored

You've gotten the Tiny Toons for years, they're called the Looney Tunes
>>
>>94454884
John K is once again playing stupid with a very normal an obvious idea, to act like it's inconceivable and it instead should be about asymmetrical european grossout characters picking their nose at eachother. He knows the show was going for a school-themed kids looney tunes. If he had proven his work ethic and ability to create on a schedule without causing a morass of PR and HR issues then he could easily have been put in charge of designing his own show for the network, but sadly he'd rather die on a hill of willful disbelief and antisocial thinking. I don't think drawing Elmyra Fudd's genitals will get him anywhere close to where he's lying to himself that he wants to go.
>>
Can we all agree that the movie was great? I watch it every summer and it still makes me laugh.

>>94454636
At least in a looney toons setting when she starts on a rant they can hit her with a mallet.
>>
>>94455010
He never critisized the content of the show, just that he would've liked a show like it with original characters.
>>
>>94457094
Original Characters are harder to market.
>>
>>94457151
Weren't the Tiny Toons characters created using the Looney Tunes characters as a base and then built up from there?
>>
>>94457326
Exactly. Thats why they were a little easier to market to kids. 20 years ago Looney Toons were still on reg tv so kids recognized them.
>>
>>94449530
But why? They weren't exactly characters that needed some legacy passed down.
>>
>>94453256
It was incredibly boring and the Looney Tunes aspect always feels like an afterthought.
