Good because it's a pullback to Gruenwald Cap and other older stories/characters. IMO. I started reading comics when Brubaker was writing but I definitely prefer the older stuff for Cap.

It was the tipping point for exposing Marvel's editorial agendas & the negative attention from "They turned Cap into a Nazi!" couldn't be written off as 'angry white basement dwellers'.

Their sales are awful, their retailers are rebelling, & editorial is running out of excuses.

It's still gonna take a while, but I think Spencer's run will be regarded as the last straw.

You guys should watch "The House of Zemo" episode from Avengers Assemble. It's basically about Helmut bringing WWII Heinrich to the present time, while Heinrich is an asshole to Helmut and then decides to bring a brute Hulk like Zemo from 2099 and tells Helmut he's more worthy of his name.

Anyway Helmut gets caught under debris (and is abandoned by Heinrich), Steve finds him, and Helmut tells Steve to finish him off because he's not worthy of his father's name and the following happens

NoobQuestion: Is Cap actually gay?

Or is this just a theory/meme/headcanon that's more fujoshi wish fulfillment than canon?
I've seen some signs in the movies, those are pretty hard to miss, but it's still just leaving the narrative option open and not openly saying it.
And I've read the comics and have never seen any sign of it there.
But then again I'd never put it past Stan Lee to plant those story seeds.

Pretty sure most Marvel writers (well not counting the recent progressive writers at least) write him as being straight.

There have been scenes in comics, even the old ones that in today's context look pretty homo and there's that Iron man/Cap comic where they just monologue in their mind about how great the other is and Steve starts getting poetic about Tony's eyes, that ways pretty gay too.

Warren Ellis joked about him being gay in Nextwave but that's about it for that.

I dunno about gay but Steve is the only character I know of that Stan Lee describes as being handsome and good looking when talking about him. I even recall him saying that Steve should be drawn as the most handsome character in the Marvel universe.

IMO if Cap in the comics were to like guys he would be bi since he definitely likes women.
