There's nothing particularly progressive about Squirrel Girl, actually. Beyond, y'know, her having a multiracial group of friends but it never really gets preachy or anything from what I've seen.

It gets high praise because the people that praise it like North's webcomic-y brand of humor and the non-house style art. I personally don't like either, nor do most people on /co/, but that doesn't mean those people aren't out there.
