The opinion that PT fights don't have emotional content really irks me. You often hear it said that the 'spectacle' got in the way of the 'emotion'. Sure, it's good what they did in the OT with their limitations, but for someone to watch Anakin and Obi-Wan fight in episode 3 and get nothing from it emotionally is unbelievable.

TFA was rushed.
Rogue One was apparently terrible at first and had to reshoot half the movie to atleast be decent.
The Han Solo movie had their directors fired, and now the new guy is seemingly reshooting the whole movie or a majority at least, and actors needed acting coaches..

The only movie that seem to have gone smoothly is The Last Jedi.
If that movie sucks, I will be able to safely say that Star Wars is not in good hands.

This is a very reasonable position. I can't speak to what she was like as an exec at LF before the Disney deal, but can you imagine the pressure she's under with such a valuable IP. As Filoni said in that quote, this is something thats been discussed with Carrie Beck (aLSG member) and presumably the rest of the LSG too. They've done a really good job with the cross-continuity thus far.

If they really do intend Rex to survive Rebels, then you can bet your bottom dollar that there is already a team-up in an upcoming Novel or Comic being planned where Rex will meet Luke.

That's a very fair point, but I just get the impression that Luke doesn't know a whole lot about Anakin and his life. Rex could tell him about Ahsoka, about Padme (he at least strongly suspected, if not outright knew, she and Anakin were an item), and a ton of other stuff.
I know it can be interpreted many ways, but Luke's question to Leia 'do you remember your mother. Your real mother' really seems like he's trying to find out about what their birth mother was like. If he'd known about Padme, he'd have a much clearer picture.

Saw Gerrera was always intended to be a Rebel extremist. The very concept came from George Lucas himself, who then wanted to tell his origins as far back as happening during the Clone Wras. The end result seen in Rogue One was also supposed to be foreshadowing Vader, as Saw is nothing but a broken husk of a man.

What part of that is hard to comprehend, that Saw was not going to be the hopeful man he used to be? It's very clearly supposed to be the origin for a Rebel who saw that happy endings aren't real, and he becomes bitter and jaded because of it. He just has to continue the fight, until he can no longer.

If you read Rebel Rising, Catalyst, and watch Rebels, you can see very clearly, how the character develops and pregresses between TCW and Rogue One. But even with just TCW as your context for Saw, you should see how someone fighting for 20 years and seeing such unjust shit would turn you into the man you see in the movie.

I do NOT think this means in scale, nor budget. I think he is talking in terms of importance. I think his show is going to be set during the OT, and will be specifically following the original cast.

Seriously, Filoni is the ULTIMATE Star Wars fanboy. What could be the biggest job a Star Wars fanboy could have; An Original Trilogy show where you have the responsibility and position of developing the OT cast beyond the movies.

Essentially, I think Filoni is going to do for Luke, Leia and Han, what he did for Anakin in TCW.

The best thing about it is that he has so, SO much to build from because of it. He has all of TCW and Rebels to pull from. If he wants to include Hera into the main cast for some alien diversity, he can. If he wants Rex there, he can. If he wants to plant some pottery seeds for Luke in the ST, he motherfucking can.

He would be defining an entire era (AGAIN!); All the OT books and comics for the rest of time would be spanning out of his show, just like how all the PT stuff has had a huge TCW influence. Any OT movie in the future would have direct connections to it.

I firmly believe that Filoni is doing a second OT show, but it will be following Luke, Leia, Han, and maybe a few other characters lifted from his previous works. I don't believe he will do the ST until after the ST is over, so that he can have maximum freedom to fix it and add the Lucas pottery he is so good at doing.

TCW Anakin is a stylization of Genddy Anakin, who was a stylization of Hayden. We've been through this mate.

TCW Anakin was supposed to portray Anakin at his most hopeful and heroic, a war hero who was proving to live up to his potential as the Chosen One. He harkens back to Obi-Wan in ANH calling him a "cunning warrior" and a "good friend".

Hayden in ROTS during the Coruscant scenes is actually very, very similar to TCW Anakin. Cocky and playful, but brave and powerful. TCW Anakin was also slowly being updated to look and sound more visually similar to ROTS Anakin, but of course the show was cut short before it really started to show. (Look into the unfinished Utapau Arc, you can't deny they were pushing closer and closer to ROTS Anakin)

It's only after Anakin gets back from the war and starts to have visions of losing Padmé, does he start to crack and revert back to the paranoid boy he was when his mother was dying. (And when Ahsoka was on trial!)

TL;DR - I think TCW did a very respectable job at developing and characterizing Anakin when he is canonically supposed to be at his most consistent and strongest. Both AOTC and ROTS were showing Anakin at his worst for most of the movies, so it all fits together perfectly if you ask me.
