>>94414953
They weren't, and now apparently there isn't a non-lenticular version.

>But the thing is: Lenticular covers (like those on DC books like the whole “Villains Month” stunt a few years back, or more recently on “The Button” storyline) are very popular with customers, to the point where it is my experience that if the lenticular is available, the vast majority of customers prefer the “fancy” one. And in the case of the Marvel “Legacy” covers, this should be even greater because the Lenticular has the same cover price as the regular edition. From a particular POV, the “regular” cover is now far far less desirable as a result.

>But again, you can’t order any copies of the lenticular of “Iron Man” if you don’t order 225% of the regular one.
>Another problem: this kind of line-wide stunt really becomes an “all-in, or stay out” kind of program – it simply isn’t rational to think you can carry a few of the lenticular covers, but not all of them. That’s not how audience response works. If you buy-in, you have to buy-in across the board.

The Terrifics is the book that's really standing out to me amongst Dark matter, not because of the cast but because I can't tell whose idea it was, unlike the rest of the Dark Matter books. Hell, the Catwoman chapter was actually a part of the base game until they cut it out and repackaged it as DLC.

Well, I personally believe gaming in general is the way to go to get new readers into capes, since I think that Injustice comic did more to get people interested in DC than anything since New 52. Batman games probably did something similar.

Also gamers love waifus and small flavor-of-the-month games (remember Katawa Shoujo?) so I think it could be a success.

Granted I know next to nothing about the game industry after circa 2012 so who knows.

>>94416238
I have a feeling it's gonna be "Flashpoint" in the same way the TV show episode was, if even that much.

The basic framework of the plot DOES work really well for a Flash solo movie, IMO. You get his origin told to you, you get his signature villain, and you get a nice TWEEST at the end about it being Barry's fault instead of Zoom's.

It’s a red-letter day for the good folk of Unliklistan as they start to power up their first atomic reactor. But after pushing the wrong button, the ultra-rare radioactive element, unstabilium, has been released into the atmosphere! Now it’s up to pilot Lt. Col. Golden Kamuy really is good, I read it recently. It's like a Tarantino film in early 20th century Hokkaido. A mix of Ainu cooking lessons and violent double-crosses among horrible people. The basic set-up has strong shades of Blade of the Immortal.

The Martian cockrock one is not good but lots of people find it hilariously bad and so worth reading. YMMV.
>>
>>94416392
Oh, and to expound on my gaming point, I think the type of people who are super into video games are generally the type of people who have been into comics for the past 15 years or so, which is why I think a lot of the recent people complaining about Marvel are from /v/ and probably only have experience with the event/murderporn era of Marvel.

Also they're obsessed with SJWs, can only communicate in memes and rage, and desperately want to make Marvel's current status into an EBIN TORTANIC style circlejerk
>>
>>94416238

Im glad they're doing Flashpoint as the first Flash film because it very quickly establishes "yes Barry can time travel but holy shit he shouldn't". It certainly works better at this point than after 4 films of Barry having already time travelled

Certainly no degree of harassment is 'good', but this idea some comics fans have that harassment in comics is extraordinary is, at least on any comparative scale, not the case

Maybe I'm biased, but the "pros are bullies" seems to often come from people who engaged and didn't get the result they wanted, which was agreement and acquiescence. But again, I live by "creative don't owe you shit, you don't owe creative loyalty either"

Also, I am slowly making my way through the earlier parts of this series, hoping to maybe possibly catch up. I may also try to find a halfway decent chan archive to read comments, because that's half the fun.

I'm a bit surprised I have so little knowledge of this going in, (the most I had was "that's a Dark Horse Character!") despite it being a Canadian book, and owning a goddamn history of comic books in Canada. The original series even had early Ty Templeton, which reminds me that I haven't checked out his bunny strips in ages.

I am so far behind on weekly releases that I no longer feel any strong desire to read weekly, and I feel bad about missing so many of these lately.

I think part of it is that fans tend to forget or even willfully ignore that fact that creators are people, and that creative work is still their job. These individuals are not symbols to be objectified, they are normal ass people with emotions and opinions. But fans get pissy when these people dare express their feelings and opinions, and that's when stupid shit happens on Twitter.

Now, I'm no fan of Death of the Author, for that very reason, that the author is a person who will subconsciously or intentionally slip their own biases into their work, influencing the story one way or another. I just think one should always be mindful of that when reading, and especially when engaging the author online.

Or it's more like ordering something, deciding you don't like it, and simply not ordering it again or not going to that restaurant again.

It's then up to the chef to decide whether he wants to change his cooking to appeal to you and your ilk or just be content with the people who DO like his food.

This is the age-old problem with stuff being stuck in a place between consumer product and art.

That Flashpoint has turned into THE Barry Allen story to adapt is the strongest argument that you could have against him not being dead.

It's a crappy story even without the New52 being born out of it- Age of Apocalypse with none of the good parts of AoA- and it really doesn't work nearly as well as a standalone thing to boot.
