Anger issues with his mother and brother is why. Mac probably will go on to marry Frankie Foster later in life only to lash out in anger at her. He'll strike her in a fit of rage and Bloo will try to talk him back into being a some what decent human being after he get out of county. Frankie will take him back but he'll just keep making the same mistakes leading to his kid growing up to be just like him.

Bloo is everything Mac is not. He's Mac's security blanket. While Mac is too withdrawn and shy to point out what he wants Bloo is VERY open about things he wants. The side effect is that Bloo ends up being very selfish while Mac ends up being selfless.

In a way they should IDEALLY balance one another out.
