Jack Hanrahan joins as Phil Hahn's co-writer in 1966; both them along with Paul Coker met as writers and designers for Hallmark and American Greetings.
In 1966, Phil and Jack drove Phil's Mustang 3,000 miles to Los Angeles to become writers for television. Starting out writing for Hanna-Barbera cartoons and working up to story editors on "Get Smart", Hahn and Hanrahan continued to freelance for Mad (their most famous contributions: perfecting the Horrifying Cliches feature and creating the very first "You Know You're Really .... When" article in 1968) until their breakthrough gig writing sketches for what was to become the #1 show on television: LAUGH-IN.
After winning an Emmy for Outstanding Writing and a season as Script Supervisors, the two left Laugh-In in 1969 and soon split as a team. Hahn is currently one of the last living original Laugh-In writers, while Hanrahan died homeless, his Emmy in hock, in 2008.
