I don't like how his sense of morals come so easily to him. Steven was raised predominantly by his dad so we're left to assume that he gets his ethics from his father, but that just seems lazy to me. Real people don't come out of the womb as perfectly fair, empathetic people. Generally speaking, people have to work to develop some sense of ethics. There are several people in this thread who called Steven a "crybaby". please you tell me - how is this a justified criticism when Steven almost never cries in the show? the only time i remember him crying was when he was effected by the magical aura of Blue Diamond's sorrow.

And not only that Steven never cries in the show (with the one exception i mentioned above), he is consistently willing to risk himself to save his friends. that's something a "crybaby" would never do.

He is like a /co/ version of Shinji Ikari. He is a character in a fantasy setting who does not act in the manner the audience wants. He is emotional and flawed and is not the big manly hero the viewers want him to be. This would not be an issue on its own if the aim of these shows is partialy to create a cool character and world to live vicariously through. Steven refuses to be the stoic action hero they want because he is preventing them from inserting into the show. It is also a guilt thing, people are so used to paragons as main characters that when they see a more fallible and average person as a main character they hate him because he reminds them that they are not the stoic badasses they want to be.
