Something I especially love about the series is the aesthetic. Raygun gothic as fuck, like everything was drawn by Syd Mead. Honestly, I wish they'd go further with it. All Legionnaire costumes should be spacesuits with bubble helmets.

I'd say 5 versions max: Original, 5YL, Reboot, Threeboot, Retroboot. And it's even debatable whether one should consider Original, 5YL, and Retroboot even separate entities since the differences there are mostly about retcons and not actual relaunches.

Johns is likely doing something similar to Retroboot though, maybe with new 52 ages (early 20s). I don't think most people want LoSH aged down too much, they're like the Titans in that sense.

Just finished the 5YL Giffen stuff and thought it was amazing. Working my way through Reboot era now and it's completely opposite in tone but still great. I've read the 4 Levitz collections out there, hope they collect the rest even if's my least favourite of those 3 general eras.

It won't continue from there but my guess is that it will probably be similar just because Johns is in charge and that's the version he sees as fitting into modern DC. It seems that the Retroboot LSH is frozen at 1985, specifically the last recruitment drive that brought Polar Boy and "Sensor Girl" onto the team, before Crisis and 5YL occurred.

But I note that Tellus and Quislet are rarely if ever included in such a lineup, and poor Magnetic Kid never shows up because they push Cos back into the lineup when he had retired at the time. I dunno, its weird how nostalgia works, Polar Boy beats the clock presumably because he had some long-time fanship from being in the substitute legion, and Jecky is just Jecky in a new costume. But no love for the last non-humanoid recruits.

Thing is, I'm not entirely sure that would work. Considering the metric ton of characters, the Legion seems more suited to television, since that would allow each member to get a spotlight. A movie would be limited to like five or six because it's like two hours.

For the record, said six would most likely be the Founders, Brainy, Tinya, and Luornu. Traditionally the first batch, and the most well known. Plus, they've all got abilities that are script and budget friendly.
