From this point on a few more pulp characters are going to start appearing so I'll explain who they are for those who don't know (because I assume most of you who know about The Shadow know him through the movie or radio)
>>94383668
Thank you, again.
>>94383736
This is Comissioner Weston. He's the character Bob Kane and Bill Finger ripped off when creating Commissioner Gordon.
Like Gordon, his job is to basically provide exposition and be a police contact. Only, instead of Gordon who is friends with Batman but doesn't get along with Bruce Wayne (most of the time), Weston is friends with Lamont Cranston, but he hates The Shadow and tries as hard as possible to deny his existence
>>94383833
These are Harry Vincent and Jericho Druke.
Harry Vincent is basically the Watson to The Shadow's Sherlock. He is often a protagonist in the pulps as the everyman through which we see The Shadow. He was also the first character introduced, as the initial scene of the first pulp shows The Shadow saving him from suicide and enlisting him.
And he gets kidnapped all the time, even more so than Margo Lane.
>>94383889
Jericho Druke was another agent, a tall and strong black man from Harlem, usually called whenever The Shadow needed some muscle.
Jericho was remarkably classy and dignified for a black character in a 30s pulp series. He was not moon-faced, nor portrayed as stupid, and did not use words like mastah and such. He was intelligent, community-conscious, competent and ran an employment agency.
>>94383996
This is Myra Reldon, the only other female agent besides Margo Lane.
She was an agent for the Department of Justice who was frequently called by The Shadow. She had spent many years in China and often disguised herself as a Chinese woman named Ming Dwan.
It's worth noting that, contrary to what the covers seemed to imply, Walter Gibson usually did not like to involve women in The Shadow stories, neither as agents nor victims, so Myra was quite the exception.

And this is just a glorious panel
>>94384404
Dr.Roy Tam here seems to be taking the place of Slade Farrow, a criminologist who was a close friend to The Shadow to the point he unmasked himself as Kent Allard in front of him
>>94384841
I assume most of you already have an idea of who Shiwan Khan is
Okay everyone, I have some really pressing matters to attend and I won't be back for another 4 hours.
If anyone here could just please just dump the remaining 25 pages I'd be extremely grateful.
I'm going to try and storytime Grendel vs The Shadow next so please try to keep the thread alive
Here's the link I was getting them from

I hope you enjoy the finale.

>Only, instead of Gordon who is friends with Batman but doesn't get along with Bruce Wayne (most of the time)
It seems more like he's puzzled why Bruce would spend his time being a layabout playboy, but admires what Bruce can do when he seemingly puts his mind to it.
However Batman comics from Year One onwards leaves it open about whether or not he knows Bruce is Batman (it's more obvious that Miller intended that Gordon learns it in Year One if you look at DKR's dialogue) but pretends not to for plausible deniability, depending on the writer.

>Dr.Roy Tam
Wasn't he the guy The Shadow saved on the bridge in the Alec Baldwin movie?

Bump for OP.

>Shadow! You need to rape Shiwan Khan
>>94385515
Yeah. He was also in the original pulps and in the 80's era series whereHe was assumed to have been killed along with most of The Shadow's agents in the Chaykin miniseries, but turned up alive in the follow-up series by Helfer..
>>94386477
>the Chaykin and Helfer series
What a load of shit those were.

Ok

Fuckin' brilliant.
Allright, everyone. I'm back. Thanks for keeping the thread alive.
I'll finish the dump and then I'll think of something else to storytime.

Fear not, citizen. The Shadow is here to the rescue.
>>94390234
>>94385515
Yes, although that scene was supposed to reference Harry Vincent's rescue from the first Shadow pulp.
Roy Tam has a much smaller role in the pulps since Slade Farrow and Rupert Sayre fill in the roles of psychiatrist and doctor, respectively.
>>94390299
Oh, and in case some of you don't know what did The Shadow use on Margo in the previous page: The Shadow carries a chemical composition with himself that, when he rubs it in his thumb and finger, and snaps them, creates a flash explosion that is "so instantaneous that the operator remains uninjured". It's called the Devil's Whisper and it's usually a last resort because of how unstable and powerful it is
>>94390607
The one thing I dislike about this is how it just seems to reinforce most people's perception of Shiwan Khan as a generic Fu Manchu knock-off who hated the West and wanted to take over the world.
Khan actually had a pretty great backstory that explained his character and reasons for doing things (which was really rare for a pulp villain, especially a foreign one), and his character had a lot in common with The Shadow. He was even better in certain aspects, as someone who trained much harder and as a result was much stronger.
Adaptations of Shiwan Khan often tend to ignore why Khan was the definite Shadow arch-nemesis and why he had such an impact.

In addition, you can find all the pulps available to read online, for free. If you are interested, you might want to read them as soon as possible, in case Conde Nast decides to be a cunt and take them down again.
