Kids movies tend to do pretty good no matter how banal or bland they are so long as the content doesn't look potentially objectionable. Higher brow shit like Kubo can scare off parents but bland shit like this and minions is perfect. Parents don't want a good movie. They just want something to shut their kids up for an hour and a half.

The message is about making babies and spending more time with family than meaningless corporate job. Nothing wrong with that.

It had a lot of weirdly interesting moments, plus whoever they got to do the lighting design put waaay to much effort in for the kind of movie it was.

There are a ton of extremely strange low-effort videos supposedly targeted at kids that get millions of hits (and therefore tons of ad revenue) but it's all from clickfarms hired by the same group that hired a warehouse of poor people to make the videos in the first place

It costs less to produce and upload the videos than they make from gaming the ad revenue system so they make a SHITLOAD of them.

Fuck no, google and ISPs are doing their best to scrub the internet clean and make it advertiser friendly and sterile, 4chan's days are likely numbered, we won't be around, at least on the open web, in another 10 years in all likihood. ISPs keep pushing to get rid of things like net neutrality and every time they push more and more people get burnt out on pushing back and they get a little closer to succeeding, they know that which is why they push it every year or so.

This movie was based off a book named "The true meaning of Smekday"

It was actually pretty enjoyable and funny. And had good main characters and a crazy enough story to be enjoyable even when it has its very predictable moments.
But the visuals were amazing. Especially in the imagination spots.
