“It is said in some circles that the among his hoard the Grand Dragon scattered nightmarish beasts that, much like the trap-door spider, could conceal themselves while they wait patiently for prey. These creatures, however, are rumored to have the devilish power to conceal themselves as furniture, or puddles of water, or even men. They are said to have only one weakness – they are vastly stupid, and left alone are incapable of distinguishing others of their kin from enemies or prey. They have little imagination and will simply copy the form of the nearest object.
Imagine, then, if you will, a little thought experiment – a room of only these things, hundreds of them, duplicating each other’s form in idiot redundancy. The thought is, of course, quite ridiculous and chilling in equal measure. I prefer to believe their existence is confined to rumor alone.”
-Pree Parzy de Peroxes, S.C. 260, The Magnificent Beast

I love that a room full of chairs is a menacing obstacle to be overcome.

Also Charon must have some amazing balance too be able to crawl on a rope like that.

>>94367269
If they threw a rock/object/person down into the chairs, could it activate a chain reaction of all the mimics attacking each other until they're all dead? Like tossing a ping pong ball into a room full of mousetraps, just a matter of waiting out the chaos.
>>
>>94369273
maybe mimics can detect others of their kind, and also the size/shape of something.

In my dream, two new characters are introduced: two girls who are trying to make it to Solomon David's tournament.

Girl 1 is a powerful warrior, and she has ambitions of fighting is Solomon David's tournament and slaying the Demiurge. Girl 2 is Girl 1's best friend, but currently lacks any skill or ability that could take a life, save one.

Over the course of the dream, the girls are forced to overcome many trials before they can make it to Solomon-David's tournament, like stealing a rocket-powered sky-skiff, hiding in bales of flowers to disguise their scent from their Goblin pursuers. It almost felt like Solomon-David personally wanted Girl to succeed in these trials, and face him.
But when they get there, Sollomon-David unceremoniously kills Girl 1. Before telling a flashback story to Girl 2

During the Universal War, Solomon-David, followed by his two bodyguards (who were merely ceremonial, obviously), went to fight another demiurge in that demiurge's throne room. Confident that their master would defeat this demiurge without issue, the two bodyguards relaxed at the edge of the room.
While relaxing, the two decided to have a friendly wager. The first bodyguard bet that their master would defeat this demiurge quickly, and that the fight would be boring. His companion stated that, no, this fight would not be boring. In fact, the most powerful attack to ever be performed would occur, and "would not leave this room."
The fight was rather quick and boring, but Solomon-David, being Royalty and an expert on powerful attacks, knew that his second bodyguard was right. Something in this room other than him would one day unleash the dreaded LESIVIA - the attack that can destroy anything.

For almost 20 years, Solomon-David had tracked down everything that was in that room during the fight. Every retainer, every weapon, even the cutlery on the table, to determine if it would one day channel the great destruction of the LESIVIA. Solomon-David eventually found what bore the LESIVIA: the child of his second bodyguard, and had been in her womb the day of the fight.
As it so happened, this child never performed the LESIVIA in his life, but he passed the potential to his child, an his child to their child, all the way down until it reached Girl 2, who bore the mark of the LESIVIA upon her cheek and would be the one to unleash the fated LESIVIA.

Now, he wants Girl 2 to defeat him with the LESIVIA, win the tournament, and take his place as a Demiurge.

Guy host's a tournament to show off how fucking great of a warrior he is.
>>
>>94372973
I'm afraid that it was at this time that I woke up, and the dream went unfinished. What would Girl 2 do to avenge her best friend? Would she unleash the attack so powerful, it would damage even the comment section of the page it was on? Would Solomon-David finally get the most spectacular death that he believes he so rightly deserves?
Or, would Girl 2 spare Solomon-David's life, spiting his wish for a noble death? Would she refuse to unleash the LESIVIA, or is she actually unleashing it the moment she refuses to unleash it, but destroying Solomon-David's aspirations rather than his body?

Honestly, I don't know.
>>
>>94372920
Every year, Solomon David hosts a tournament, where the winner gets his Demiurge Key. He kinda wants to die a spectacular death and not be a Demiurge anymore, kinda like Mottom.

I think there is a specific manner of moving along a rope that is visually similar to that sometimes referred to as a commando crawl. No idea how it would apply to non-human anatomy though but Charon seems firmly attached to the rope with some method of balancing himself (dangling limb and possibly tail) while also capable of pushing himself along with his leg if that's how it's being used so it might not be too precarious.

No, the original chair crumbled to dust aeons ago. Its memory, every detail, every faint scratch along its backrest, the worn edges on its legs, the faint impression of countless bottoms on the seat itself, all of it is preserved by a collection of creatures with a collective IQ equaling roughly room temperature. As long as one mindlessly bloodthirsty mimic survives, so too does this chair, immortal and perfect.

Through violence, it has reached heaven.
>>
>>94374233
Well whatever it is it has a bunch of stone pillars (hopefully) impaling it from underneath.

My bet is they either accidentally or deliberately throw something in there and cause a bloodbath down there. And when they get out they go "whew that was close", when one of them leans bit too far towards some object and gets attacked.

Never happened to me mate. You do know the enemies repopulate cleared zones, right?

Who could you even be loosing, bots, turrets? There's only one or two points you 'could' actually have NPCs in danger and there's essentially no reason to revisit cargo after you've gone there the first time.
>>
>>94374171
