Is this the best animated web series of all time?
No.
>>94362883
What is, then?
>>94362843
Still holds up, so, yeah. Most web series are a product of their time, and while Madness combat is too (just look at the black gabardine, the bandanna and the katana), its action is still timeless and a lot of fun.
>>94362843
If you're a teenager. Are you a teenager?
I still enjoy the music, and the cartoonishly over the top violence.
>>94362894
You need to make like a tree and get the fuck out of here
>>94362843
wew, i used to enjoy this when i was 13, is this still a thing?
>>94363326
Yeah, it's astounding how stuff that's over a decade old looks just as good in terms of quality as stuff that comes out now. Plus, I think Madness kind of capitalized on the "lone badass plows his way through an army of disposable goons with a sick electronic soundtrack" trend that we saw later with Hotline Miami and John Wick and Payday 2 (to an extent).
Madness Combat was so ahead of its time, it's honestly surreal to think about.
>>94364007
The final episode is still being animated,
>>94364085
So, you think that MC was ahead of its time, or that more current action related works actually took after Madness Combat?
>>94364124
>final episode
Supposedly 10 was the finale, and before that it was supposed to be 7. Madness will probably never end until Krinkels just gets bored with it and drops it entirely.
>>94362894
>>94362843
>>94364154
Probably the former, since MC borrows a lot from movies like The Matrix and Leon as well as the kung-fu stickman flashes like Xiao Xiao and whatnot (which in turn borrow heavily from Wuxia theater and John Woo "Righteous Bloodshed" movies)
>>94364124
Are you serious? Last I saw there was 10 episodes, I only remember Hank becoming a monster
>>94364228
Yep. One final big battle, I think.
>>94362843
its pretty fun for just a bloody beat em up. i remember when scrolling trought newgrounds i found them as a secret gem back in the day
This series has pretty well defined characters for the little dialogue it contained.
>>94364174
Did the group behind this ever do anything else?
the music is the best, that's for damn sure
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBMH2WkL8P0
>>94365148
They are working on the next installment now actually. Its supposed to be an epilogue I think
>>94362843
The best animation flash era action web series?
yes, definitely.
the best animated web series?
There's way too much great stuff to compare
>>94364124
hoo boy. this betetr not end up like the ending of killing spree
>>94365148
afaik they only ever did that series.
>>94364157
>>94364228
MC11 is in the works if you follow Krinkel's twitter.
>>94366257
Shit, looks neat.
I thought this was a flash game?
>>94366257
I just looked into this.
Hasn't it been like 10 fucking years?
>>94367530
Actually, the 15th anniversary was a few days ago.
The next episode is looking promising
>>94367782
>when a fanseries is the only thing left to look forward to since MC11 is taking forever
>>94366257
>>94367907
he's actually splitting his time with Project Nexus 2.
Even in its alpha stage, the game actually feels pretty good to play, but progress is slow as shit since it's like a 4~ man team
>>94367987
Oh I'm aware, since I have the alpha myself. At least it's nearing the Beta stage.
>>94367987
The games pretty sweet, but it feels like it needs a lot more put into it. Without bashing the style, the texturing needs a change from scratchy blotchy grey.
Still an alpha though so hopefully the crack down on that.
>>94362843
Electronic music with hyper violence and dark humor is the bestthe last episode ends on the chicken dance
I think 4-5.5 was the top of the game, Krinkels just couldn't match Hank's rampage in 5.5, you could almost feel how angry and jittery he is in that one.
>>94370818
>4-5.5
Chronologically in order of release, or just 4, 5 & 5.5?
>>94371505
In order of release
So why did Hank want to kill the Sheriff in the first place?
>>94372025
To prevent him from having the improbability drive.
>>94371505
The best parts where clown duels
that mix between utterly psychotic and plain stupid was just great. peak internet.
I loved having the animation for each new episode bump up a little since the beginning for a while.
>>94367145
As someone who knows nothing about this, it looks sorta like Thing-Thing, which is the flash game series you're probably thinking of
Anyone watch xionic madness?
Not the best web animation but definitely one of the best memories I got from NG. Absurd lore, mindless violence, electronic music, shitty style with a lot of heart put into animation. Good stuff.
Wasted so many hours on the first Nexus.
>>94365103
It has been so long since I watched the series, was there actual dialogue in terms of speaking?
>>94362843
Bunny kill did it better. It could use it's figures more creatively and had better action and effects, especially bunny kill 5. Only thing holding it back was the fact it's creator couldn't commit to a single countinuty. that being said, madness still deserves all the praise it get's for the fact it's creator has come a long way.
>>94374328
The dialogue is written, not spoken.
Honestly the effort put into this series declined after episode 4, After that Krinkel stopped animating blood pools and started reducing blood splatter in general yet each episode.
I guess he did it to speed up production but each episode still takes longer to make then the last one, I imagine we would still be on episode 8 if he went full bloodworks..
>>94365173
Spinoff featuring the gang members, if I recall correctly.
>>94374328
>Goodnight, Hank.
Yes, but very VERY little. As in, maybe one line every other movie.
>>94374713
>hundreds of frames of flaming frame-by-frame drawn/animated fire
>dozens of distinct blood splatter animations
>hurr durr it's lazy because the pools are gone
>>94377046
I'd rather see flames than pools of blood.
>it's been eleven years since pic related has had another installment
>>94374042
>>94362843
Personally I found Xionic Madness to be cooler, have the better animation and fight scenes. Too bad the creator completely dropped off the face of the map.
>>94367987
Nexus 1 was amazing, since it managed to perfectly capture the feel of the movies. I have good expectations for Nexus 2.
>>94377046
>Krinkles' only mistake is spending hours drawing every last molecule of each thing and also putting thousands of little details on the background
>You can't even get mad at him because it comes off really good when it's finished
>>94379575
PN2 is trucking along...slowly.
I haven't played it too often recently because of how long it takes for a new update to arrive, but when it does, there's a good amount to expect.
Madness Day is my only reason for going to Newgrounds these days. Everything else is rather dull.
What's /k/'s consensus on the designs for weapons Krinkles uses?
if only you people knew about the insanely autistic newgrounds fan community
krinkels spends most of his time drawing furry porn btw
>>94362894
Brackenwood;
>>94381406
I sadly have to agree.
>>94382965
Oh, I'm aware. I'm very well aware.
>>94379575
If only it could be released as a standalone game and not some shitty flash.
>>94382965
wtf i hate krinkles now
>>94382965
If he keeps it separate from his other content why should this be a bad thing?
Are there any good fan series?
>>94385261
In Madness? As far as story driven series goes, REALM. Besides that, it's just collabs and easily forgettable solo movies unless if they happen to be frame by frame.
>>94383301Is it bad that I find that art quite good?
>>94385495
Just watched the whole thing, it's good but a wish it could go a little "faster"
Most characters leave themselves open for way too long
>>94386574
Yes. Kys furfag
Ouch, this shit is too real. -Krinkels
>>94373998
>Thing-Thing
Yup, that's it.
>>94362894
Whatever Sexual Lobster is doing right now.
Or, Professor Brothers.
>>94386706
That's generally not the point to begin with anyway, though.
And if you want faster pace, try to find the hidden shit.
Also it's not like these two are professionals either.
I have to ask here since is the first chance I've ever gotten to question the topic
Does anyone remember a fan madness series that had a red Templar guy and some blue ninja dude that were on a mission to kill a green furry gal? I saw it when I was younger but I can't remember where to find it for the life of me
>>94388300
Xionic Madness?
>>94388447
God it's my edgy years all over again, thanks for helping me find it
>>94385495
I remember that one short series about a couple of ninjas, maybe? It's been way too long.
>>94362843
Xiao Xiao exists so no
>>94362843
It's certainly one of the most bloody one out there
>>94386574
It's meh, I guess.
>>94362843
Stickdeath. If you say no, super beast will rip your dick off, invent a size changing machine and supersize your dick and launch it into Earth's orbit and use it for a luxury vacation getaway resort and hammer of dong lazer guided satellite.
>>94376236
The clown has more lines than anyone else.
Episode 3 & 4 are still my favourites
the action and music were perfect
>>94362843
No, this is the best animated web series.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9jxib4Npug
>>94382553
I just went back and looked, and yeah it's pretty good. If you know what you're looking at you can pick out most of the stuff he's using. They're not as lovingly rendered as something I would call "/k/ approved", but it's not just vague gun shapes and he has one or two less common weapons. 7/10, it's ok,
>>94389736
Maximum Ninja?
>>94362843
I might have to agree with that, yeah. Everything from the animation, to the action, to the music is fantastic. As a series it's really consistent in quality as well.
>>94365303
>ending of killing spree
Oh man, that blew. Still, I got some good memories with that series - stick animations in general. They really helped to shape my taste in music, I think.
>>94365303
>>94396568
>Killing Spree
Oh many the edgy nostalgia! Also yeah the ending to that blew.
I wonder whatever happened to Castle
>>94396669
Oh man, I don't remember much about Castle. I sure do remember Joe Zombie though. The use of Swift 3D in that series blew my mind.
>>94378573
Don't.
7 is the best. I also love 7.5s stealth job till Deimos unloads a lmg
>>94396978
I love how Giant Ghost Tricky is pretty much the only thing to ever bring out a semblance of fear in Hank.
>>94396368
Yeah, that's the one!
