Well Arkham is a manor repurposed, and as various plots surrounding Wayne Manor and the Gotham Academy series show, the old Gotham manors are full of of hidden passages and various other secrets. Of course this is never really adressed with Arkham and writers just seem to have decided its a revolving door.

When no rank and file soldiers survive an encounter. When the heroes essentially are responsible for killing every enemy.

Even worse if it is some great evil that has been waiting to strike, and when they do not a single soldier can kill one of theirs. Can't 3 or so gang up on one bad guy? If the defending soldiers are so shit, why did the enemy bother waiting?

I watched the terrible Ironclad film and at the end of course only the few main characters were alive. I mean sure for the big bad barbarian antagonist have him more powerful but the rank and file couldn't get a single kill.
