It depends. The reason they changed it to green for Flute Spell was because the purple blended too much with background at night.

The forest spirit dude says she (as a "wolf") "only sees what's in front" and that she stopped being able to see him because of she started getting "the wizard city vibe." Makes me think she's trying to get away from some kind of past. The fact that she moved away from the forest spirit's teachings or whatever he does in favor of the wizard city might indicate she goes around seeking power and knowledge, but she was also sad that it lost her a friend.

If there was enough time left for it, I would expect learning to be slightly less of a hardass would be part of her character development, but yeah she doesn't seem the type even then. Her reactions to Finn were pretty understated.
