Gwenpool is unspeakably boring and dull, and it doesn't get extra points just because it's a little different and more readable than Marvel's current line-up. I'm sick of "teehee look at how meta this is" in any medium. It's not even funny. Even Dr.McNinja (which was a heaping pile of feces) had the occasional amusing non-sequitur.

Gwenpool is exactly like the dozens of flavor of the month isekai shows that get threads only because people want to talk about their waifu. It's beat-per-beat following the specific formula for mass appeal to weebs, right down to the character gaining godlike powers in the later issues. Except at least those animes have cute characters while Gwenpool looks like an 8th grader's Deadpool OC.
I don't have to read it just because it's better than Marvel's current line-up and I don't give a shit if people get so autistic about this character that they have to spam her everywhere even if they hate her to the point the "falseflaggers" are the boogeymen of the threads.

Gwen's meta knowledge is used with a clear purpose, not just for comedy's sake, she's a deranged person thrown in what she cobsiders a fictional world and thus thinks nothing has meaning. She mocks normal people for being "extras", thought her protagonist status made her safe from harm... i mean, i was just reading issue 8, Gwen has to fight an army of squis-aliens and plans to do it in the middle of NY, so she asks Batroc and the others to distract the entire city's police force so she can act undisturbed, but they protest because it's irresponsible to put the entire city in danger, and that prompts her to make a cold rant about how the cops and citizens of the Marvel universe are just meaningless tools used to tell Captain America and Spiderman stories.

It's all about her fucking up, people not accepting it, and her realizing that she hurt people and needs to change. Whenever people are mad at Gwen, it's usually because SHE said or did something stupid.

It's not that easy to get a job, even IRL. And she thanked him for the job apps, even though she didn't think they'd help. Her whole argument with her father came about when he said that she couldn't stick to anything, and Gwen's complaints were how she has no friends, failed to graduate high school, and can't land a solid job. Her whole point was about how she sees herself as a useless failure, and she'd long given up on her world because of it.

Her parents were never in the wrong for trying to help her, and Gwen's way of going about things was not a good thing. Gwen's meant to be flawed, but her feelings are still valid and reasonable.
