>Western animation will never put this much thought and care into drawing their firearms
Why is it a country with some of the strictest gun laws on earth can draw better guns than American companies?

Is this a Gunsmith Cats thread?
And to answer your question, my guess is that if they were to explore a foreign concept through media, they would want to research as much as possible to avoid embarrassment.

Why is the Punisher so popular among fudds who don't even read comics? How do they even know about him?

Japan's animation industry allows for great variety and quantity at the cost of the work being used for it being well-on slave labor.
However, it's still a damn good question. Maybe it's because of the age stereotype? In the US animators have not really gotten chances to make works explicitly about things they're huge nerds about- it needs to be made at the approval of a company, needs to make money, etc etc. We just straight up don't get as much machine porn as far as I can tell, possibly because it just wouldn't make money and would cost too much.

>Maybe it's because of the age stereotype?
It is.
Someone wants to put nice guns in a cartoon and soccer mom starts shrieking at her facebook friends about them not thinking of the children.
Then, because most cartoons in america are produced by huge corporations with profits they want to protect, the guns go away or the cartoon goes away or both.

I never got why real guns are bad but laser guns are okay when presumably the laser guns can kill just as well as a regular gun.
Also, kinda bizarre that fucking Steven Universe of all shows had a realistic (albeit poorly drawn) gun.
>>94321341
Yeah it's never about what the gun does it's about depiction.
Hell in Beware the guns are still clearly conventional firearms, they are demonstrated to shoot solid projectiles and operate like normal guns, and they are just as good at killing Bruces parents. They just can't look or sound "too real" or make anyone bleed much.
More "cartoony" examples are usually more likely to be ignored for the same reason.
>>94319726
Maybe as rebellion for how oppressed they are firearms wise.

western animator will just walk to the next fucking store and get the fucking gun to work with. they dont need thousands explanation pictures for it.

That's a actually a stupid little lever gun lol so small like for a little guy. Just imagine how dumb a person looks trying to fire that a couple time I'm a row.

If you're in America and interested in guns, you go out and buy some guns.
If you're in Japan, you read about, draw and animate them.
I've also heard that conservative types tend to have more practical interests rather than artistic.
>>94323450
Conservatives aren't in the arts because their mommies told them to pick a safer career at their uncle's hardware store
Cartoon are for kids, you can't have their favorite talking dogs using firearms.
