Not really underutilized more like used poorly, His had a sad backstory that really was Timmy´s fault, even if he really didn´t remenber his past as a good kid he was trying to get back what he lost. Instead they used him as pretty much a one note joke.

I really, REALLY feel like everyone's just blowing her position completely out of proportion.
I honestly cant recall any argument other than "shipping" people have used to push her forward into more stories. I mean otherwise she was just a generic "bully to overcome" cliche until she had her arc.

I'm kinda glad they didn't overplay Canyon. They probably would have ruined her like they've ruined every other character. Injecting her full of flaws so they can make her as terrible and selfish as everyone else in the show.

Aside from the LOL SHE'S POOR NOW, TAKE THAT lazy resolution at the end, there's really no big loss about her. You just wanted that tiny bit of last second shipping to go somewhere.
