I played it. I was an impatient little shit, so I started trying to get farther ahead through glitches than actual gameplay.

FusionFall was a pretty good game for its time. The reason why so many people have fond memories is that it was literally the first big thing to use Unity as its primary engine. It was ahead of its time even though its not so much at the moment.

I wouldn't say that. From the looks of it, most of the basic features will be in there. That would likely include the battle system as well. I mean, you start off with a tutorial focusing on the battle system. It's not gonna be a walking simulator if that's what people think. I think the most common problem will be the fact that people won't really be able to go outside Peach Creek Commons in the past. So, this could arguably be seen as a demo at launch.
I understand being disappointed, but I wouldn't drop the game over it. After all, they did say that updates to the game will be frequent and we will eventually have the full game in our hands. More importantly, it's F2P. So aside from time, you don't really have anything to lose by waiting for it.

According to a post on the forums you'll be able to play through the tutorial, make a character, and explore the Future zone to test server stuff. I don't think they'll have NPCs enabled until they turn on the features that go with them.

God I really want Total Drama in this game. I went to the trouble of sketching Chris as an NPC and an Owen nano. First time drawing anything in this style and I don't think I did too bad.

Did anybody in the last thread mention the devs will take requests if the shows fit into the games lore? Camp Wawanakwa could easily be thrown in the map somewhere, say they were filming a season of Total Drama when Fuse attacked, and only 4 or 5 contestants were still competing and on the island, so they don't have to add all 80 something contestants in this game.

Chris can give out missions under the guise of challenges and say something about rewarding 100,000 taros if you "win" to convince you to go defeat all the spawns and fusions on the island.
