Might as well add Aeon Flux to this, although that's one that most people seem to know about (but haven't actually watched) The best part about Aeon Flux is that unlike the typical portrayal of the hot action babe, she wasn't nigh untouchable. Her often brutal death scenes were some of the best parts of the series.

If Taarna had died the way Aeon Flux often does Heavy Metal would have been one of my favorite animated features of all time, easily. Instead it felt like total blue balls after all those other dark endings, which at the time made it stand out for me as I was so used to seeing the hero always win. Then along comes unstoppable T&A to restore the status quo and inadvertently rescue the innocent little girl. Boring.

Ronin Warriors: a western adaptation of some relatively obscure anime, similar to Voltron or Robotech but garnering way less attention than either. I vaguely remember enjoying it as a kid, though I rarely caught it airing on broadcast TV.

Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics

Another western adaptation of an anime that I doubt anyone would hesitate to call a cartoon. Especially since it was an anime about western fables anyway. I still find myself humming the theme to this sometimes. It gives me a huge nostalgia rush.

Odd little series, I think it's the only non-disney adaptation of Peter Pan I've seen make it to broadcast, don't remember too much of it, but a two parter stuck out in my mind of a plot of Peter wanting to grow up, but apparently Neverland's existence hangs on Peter wanting to stay young. So pretty much all of reality starts to vanish, some heavy shit for a kids show

This was literally my favorite show as a kid, watched it every morning before school. I didn't remember how it ended so I torrented it a few years back and I guess it just got cancelled because the last episode cut it off in a really strange way. It was still an enjoyable watch even though a ton of stuff made no sense.

Some Canadian shows like Sagua and Chaotic are pretty obscure to most people outside Canada.

An anon was doing translations of this at one point, but nothing beyond the first season ever got done.
An English dub also exists, but I can't find anything other than the first episode of season 4 online.
This show is actually really nice even with it's extremely limited animation, and it's a shame that this isn't even popular enough to warrant more than the first season getting subs.

I recently watched this for the second time, and I felt that I was incredible unfair about its writing, since I thought that its biggest weakness was a"villain of the week" crutch, plus Disney being Disney about the content of its shows. I don't really want to say much to avoid spoilers, but I'll say that the only problem relating to that, is that Kane's motives sometimes slip into mustache-twirling territory, but not that much.
