I believe the deal was that to stave off the janitor who kept deleting threads he didn't like, we began to limit Endtown threads to Fridays while keeping general discussion in /trash/. Then, recently, Aaron had to take off a week or two due to health issues, cutting off the update threads on /co/.

Waifu wars ruined the threads and then the ending of the boat arc was pure bullshit.

The love triangle drama, Holly's fishy flashback - all were fine, even if people argued over them. But the moment it ended how it ended, people flipped their shit.

I didn't get the butthurt. Aaron since day one said Endtown has no one single protagonist. So the comic was eventually going to switch from Holly and Sally. Aaron even said he originally was going to kill Holly off. He changed his mind and gave her an open ending, So there is always a chance she can come back.

Marx helped Jacob into power because, in his own words, was for the greater good. And since he was indirectly part of Endtown's creation, i doubt his plan is its destruction.

I do however can believe that helping Jacob get into power only to have him fall from grace can be his objective. After this, the whole "embrace your species" would probably lose popularity as it would be linked to losing oneself in a similar fashion to schism.
