Christopher Lee as Death in Discworld.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_3RrH5sYhhs
Michael Ironside as Darkseid.
Idris Elba as white characters
>>94301789
Gets canceled. Meanwhile Supernatural is getting a 13th season. It's just not fair.
>>94302027
Abe too, and Selma was pretty good as liz
>>94302198
This was so toned down that they should have called it Heckburner
>>94301789
The fucking wasted potential is the worst thing about this all
He probably could've been in for a shot to play John in the JLD dark movie if they didn't decide to shoehorn him into the arrow-verse too
Although, they'd probably want a much more marketable name to play John in a blockbuster JLD film than Matt Ryan
>>94302027
>face shaped just like thanos
>casts josh brolin anyway
>>94302612
JLD is a garbage idea and DC needs to stop fucking their magic characters in the hope that one day this stupid idea will catch on with casuals.
>>94302809
Might be alright if they're not afraid to give it an R-Rating
and preferably they'd take more inspo from Great Darkness arc of Swamp Thing for ideas on how to have a team-up of their most famous magic characters rather than the mediocre new 52 JLD
>>94301789
>>94302943
this
>>94302526
it's less toned down than any Constantine since New 52
>>94302579
>>94302733
Watchmen's casting in general aside from Ozymandias was spot on, but Rorschach took the cake.
>>94302198
Gotta love all of those fangirls who threw shade all over this show for "ripping off" Supernatural.
>>94303043
Why don't they just cast Urban as everyone? He's always been a great choice.
>>94303069
Ouch... Reminds me of the Undertalefags thinking Steven Universe copyright infringing their own song
>>94302971
a damned good Satan, but I really preferred how The Prophecy handled him. But The Prophecy was a much better movie so..
>>94303112
forgot pic
sorry for the cosplay but I had to
>>94303043
I can't wait tocry like a bitch when he stands at Gjallerbru.
porn casting counts?
>>94303274
>tattoos
>>94303211
Why hasn't she done porn
>>94303384
I know right....I don't even know if she does nudes anymore, I see more cosplay than nudes from her these days
*rushes to post JJJ*
>>94301863
DAMNIT
>>94302971
>>94303112
>>94303156
best satan coming through
>>94302864
Eddie Marsan would be a thousand times better. He's a little englishman that waddles around and is genuinely jacked. I didn't know how intimidating he could be until I saw him boxing on ray donovan.
>>94302198
At least it died before it could turn bad.
>>94303842
Mah nigga
>>94303224
I expect them to mess it up, but I love Urban.
>>94303518
I'm sorry who is this?
>>94303999
I can see him playing Arkham Penguin.
But better than Danny ? No chance.
>>94304110
Marie-Claude Bourbonnaise, a Quebecois Cosplayer (who makes her own costumes, even when sponsored).
>>94302943
It's amazing how a movie based on fistfighting people across the world was only memorable because of Raul Julia's charisma. Literally 102 minutes of nothing happening, what a fucking waste.
>Welshman playing a Scouser
>10/10
No.
>>94304230
Zangief had one funny line.
>>94302954
For as much shit as he got for the role, Arnold actually was a great casting choice.
The things everyone remembers Michael Ansara for as Mr.Freeze were his robotic tone, the accent and his monologues.
Arnold was iconic for the first two things as The Terminator and he was surprisingly great at the latter in Conan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okpByy-F_WA
He could have been the perfect live-action Freeze if he had been given better direction and had been part of a better movie
>>94302864
The Burton movies had god-tier casting.
>>94304217
she's kinda hard to pin down. Is she a cosplayer, is she a softcore porn model (cause with those bolt ons she had to have done it for porn), she seems to genuinely love comics, hell, she has a comic based on her.
>>94304060
>At least it died before it could turn bad.
Unfortunatelly it died before it could turn good, too. It lived only on the potential
>>94304287
Agreed 100%. If shoefucker let Arnie take the more traditional route we'd have ended up with a Freeze similar to Paul Dini and Bruce Tim's adaptation.
Could you imagine?
>"We wuh married twenty yeahs ago, on a snowy Chrismahs Eve. Norah loved tha snow. I thought it sad that there should be nahn this yeah. And I wouln't want my Norah to be sad tonight..."
>>94304833
episode 4 showed what it could be, it was a good episode desu
>>94304369
Great. I would also say Kelsey Grammer as Beast.
>>94302864
All of them, really
>>94304891
>Think of it, Bahtman. To nevuh again wahlk on a summahn's day, with a hot wind in your fayce, and a warm hahnd to hold. Oooh yes, I would keel for that...
Rest of the cast is hit and miss, but I honestly love these two dudes.
>>94301789
>>94303842
I have been trying to remember the name of this show for actual fucking years, thank you.
>>94305122
Well, evans certainly has the tits for the job.
>>94301789
>>94305361
If you never finished it, I don't really reccomend finishing it too much. Not that it gets bad, the show actually gets consistently better and better as it goes along, until the end of season 2 where it ends on one of the biggest blue balling cliffhangers I've ever experienced, and was then promptly cancelled. Don't watch it unless you deal with disappointment well.
>>94303224
Why is a bullet dropping over his armor?
>>94302526
Didn't he smoke and shoot a lot of heroin?
>>94305492
>Mark Hamill
GOAT
Say what you will about the quality of the movie itself, I thought Benedict Cumberbatch was a spot-on choice for Stephen Strange. It helps that Stephen's never really been a conventionally attractive character- it wouldn't have felt right to me if they'd cast just ANY Hollywood hunk, because Doctor Strange has always been sort of odd looking. Benedict is perfect for that, because he's odd looking in exactly the same way.
>>94305492
>Andy Williams
It's Paul Williams you uncultured swine
Though completely wasted in terms of potential,Clooney as Batsand nobody will ever convince me otherwise
>>94303842
Was their ever a conclusion?
>>94302027
The casting for hellboy was great, but with all the talk I've seen lately about the new thing they're making, and people saying they hate it because the other movies were perfect, I went and rewatched the first of them for the first time in years.
And it was awful.
Am I alone in this?
>>94306340
No. As I said, it got cancelled.
>>94301789
This is the only case I can think of where an actor cast in an adaptation fits the character's art style (Steve Dillon). Put the frankface over him and you'll see what I mean.
>>94306275
I'm more upset that they completely wasted the opportunity to cast the phenomenal Joaquin Phoenix in favor of casting a mediocre and uncharismatic alien
>>94304991
True. Penguin's a character actor's wet dream. I'd have killed for a Ray Wise penguin.
>>94306360
I like them but the comics are way better. I'm hoping that the new movie will be something closer to the comic.
>>94302971
>>94303156
best ones
>>94303842
Damn you for making me remember this pain.
That was such an enjoyable fucking show.
>>94302809
>>94302884
The problem isn't having the Justice League Dark characters appear in a film together, it's having them form a superhero team.
Just make a Hellblazer or Swamp Thing film that can bring the characters together.
>>94307135
I feel you anon. I feel you.
>>94304682
>(cause with those bolt ons she had to have done it for porn
IIRC she used to be flat and just decided she wanted tits
>>94306380
he already has the frankface out over him.
>>94301789
Fuck no. His accent was shit and there wasn't an ounce of depth in 13 episodes of his dead-eyed performance. Even in Feast of Friends, the best episode, where he breaks down and finally has to deal with shit like all the best Constantine stories are about, he still barely emotes or moves his face. The strongest reactions on his part in that episode are when he's staunch, like when he's holding Richie's hand or pretending to be okay with his sacrifice.
I also think it's ridiculous to cast him in the animated shows and movies, since his accent is so damn atrocious.
95% of the MCU
>>94302809
>>94307830
JLD is the worst run I've read in ages, how does something so crap come out of people like Milligan and JMD? The fact that it reaches backwards to try to be a superhero book and forgo any semblance of horror is bad enough, but how terrible a character is Nightmare Nurse?
I seriously thought she must have been some Golden Age ghost character they tried unsuccessfully to revamp, but this sad excuse for a character was created in the 21st Century, and that just baffles me to no end.
I'm never going to not be mad that DC had such a great idea as "Books of Magic meets BPRD", and they squandered it like nothing, and have since been trying to bring that idea into various media adaptions when it has no solid framework whatsoever.
>>94303156
That's a really good Satan and I also like the motto of Lucifer showing up only to solve something and end up being the hero and then getting the fuck off.
>>94305492
I love you too, Mark.
>>94303842
From being possessed by BOB to Satan. Not bad.
>>94306275
I couldn't disagree more. Between his hokey American accent and zero charisma, I never bought him as Strange for a second. Add to that that Strange in most stories is just a magical Sherlock Holmes, and it all just felt recycled and forced to me.
Also that beard is weak.
>>94306539
I think the comics have great art and world building, but the humor feels cheap and the action is wooden.
Mignolaverse is best when it's serious and quiet.
But, like tell me your opinion on it, /co/.
>>94306360
They're fun films, but the comics are a Masterpiece the movies simply cannot compare to. And you'll be constantly internally comparing them.
>>94308353
Hell, I remember first seeing her in an ad for New York Fries and the entire thing was a joke about her large fake breasts
>>94303019
The one time /co/ unanimously agreed that racebending was okay.
I just wish he were in a good Daredevil movie.
>>94306275
I liked Cumberbatch in the role but I'm still kinda upset since I think Joaquin Phoenix would've been better for the role, plus this means that Cumberbatch will probably never be Dream of the Endless now.
>>94303051
>>94302733
I'm trying to remember, didn't Rorschach wear platforms and when he went to jail people realized how much of a manlet he was? In the movie they just played him short from the start, right?
>>94302889
Not even close
>>94306302
You know I agree
>>94302816
Ah, my first boner.
And so many after.
Movie was shit, but Hal and Sinestro were on point castings.
>>94303019
RIP
>>94302943
This man single handedly saved that movie
>>94301863
10/10 casting in this thread, not 11/10. Delete this.
>>94306360
Yes, you are. First movie is god tier, second is mediocre.
>>94305754
>Watch the finale
>Get hyped for the next season
>Months go by
>Wonder when it's coming back
>Find out its cancelled
>>94312065
She wasn't my first boner, but she was one of the reasons I started liking women.
I still remember going into my room after the movie ended and I decided to grab at the plushy bumps in my mattress and pretend they were her tits.
Life was weird in the late 90s.
>>94303842
That's not Tom Waits
>>94310131
I still think Keanu Reeves would make a good Dream
He's on a pretty good rebound right now.
>>94306275
Cumberbatch is far and away my least accurate choice of all the casting.
Cumberbatch was MADE to be Namor.
Strange should have been Viggo Mortensen, Joaquin Phoenix or an unknown. I never imaigned Strange's voice to be this booming thing, either. I imagine more "Irish Shakespeare" but American.
>>94318389
And he's been playing a worse character every season since.
Tobey Maguire
>>94306394
>>94310131
>>94318637
Joaquin didn't want to do multiple movies. Would it have been worth it to have him but never have Strange show up again?
>>94318898yes
just kill him off like they are Captain Marvel (Danvers) and pass it to another person
>>94306394
>wasted the opportunity
They literally were in talks with him. He was too good for multi movie contracts
>>94303001
underrated
>>94304272
At least you could understand what he was saying.
I mean, I love scousers, but it's... hard.
>>94318918
But that's retarded
>>94306360
I actually think the first Hellboy is just okay at best.
Love the second one though.
>>94306360
Horrible characterization of Hellboy and the other characters but decent movies.
>>94309729
I read the first two volumes and I found them nauseatingly boring. My eyes would just glaze over when I looked at the page. I wasn't pulled in at all.
I understand that mike is a great artist, but He isn't that good at the cartooning side of comicking
>>94302755
He's fucking OLD, man.
If he tries to do a Hellboy-esque role again, it could possibly kill him.
Since it never actually happened, there's a chance for him to do it in the MCU.
I swear, if they do Mysterio and it isn't Bruce, I will kill Amy Pascal.
>>94321725
There's a chance he'd refuse on the principle that he wouldn't be working with his friend Raimi
>>94322438
I'll still kill her.
She has it coming either way.
>>94303689
Wasn't that JJJJ?
>>94303051
I don't remember a problem with Ozymandias casting.
I remember many many problems with the way he was directed.
>>94306153
I don't remember him ever doing anything as hard as heroin in the comics.
Granted he only really smoked weed when with others who did so so who knows what would have happened had there been some sort of herorin party.
>>94306275
Agreed
>>94308795
hey fuck you Nightmare Nurse was the best new character of the new52.
>>94322796
Arguably the actor was already odd-looking by himself, and scrawny, he's often hired as "that creepy dude" so just by looking at him you don't get the kind-hearted vibe you'd expect from Ozy
But sure, a better direction and costuming could've helped
The movie was an insane mishmash that probably started life as a script for a Vertigo miniseries.
But the casting for the Spirit was not one of those issues.
>>94302943
what the fuck is that stamper
>>94305122
Hawkeye, Widow and War Machine are the only misses, desu.
Marvel's problem has never been their casting director, for the most part.
>>94322940
>and War Machine
Still feel like it's a huge missed opportunity that Terence Howard didn't come back.
>>94322957
I like that Cheadle Rhodey works as te serious counterpart to Tony, just like Falcon is the looser counterpart to Cap. They sort of mirror each other.
It creates a nice dynamic that works better than having 2 wacky/sassy black characters who would just compete for the same Will Smith clichê.
Unfortunately that means that War Machine isn't as faithful casting. But I do think it was for the best. Maybe in a few years they get a better one called Rhodey Junior or something.
>>94321461
I hate to pull the "it gets better" card, but I feel it does. The first two volumes don't quite have that flow of the latter ones yet.
>>94322940
>Hawkeye
I would have agreed following the first Avengers, but every successive appearance of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye has him act more and more like the character we know and love and proves to me that the problem is with writing rather than casting.
>Black Widow
Eh. She was great in Winter Soldier, if not a little too amiable. I feel like Black Widow isn't a character with a lot of room to work with.
>War Machine
Nah, man, Cheadle does great in the role he's been given as Tony's loyal, straight-laced straight man. Just because War Machine's personality is meant to be mundane and grounded, doesn't mean that's a failure of casting.
>>94302198
>>94303069
That reminds me of a rumor I once heard that originally Castiel was gonna just literally be John Constantine but they couldn't afford the rights.
>>94322940
>Hawkeye
>implying
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYzk0OOSCAo
https://youtu.be/M50RCTR460Y?t=35
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWLwP9pEWB8
Hawkeye's main problem in the MCU is that writers are either unwilling or unable to use him to his fullest potential.
>>94306275
Bane memes aside, Aiden Gillen probably would have been a better fit in my opinion.
>>94306380
He's not big enough to really fit Frank in my opinion, but his actual movement and voice and general style definitely is Frank enough to fill in for any gaps.
>>94306380
Bernthal definitely wasn't my ideal Frank, but he was still a pretty good Frank.
>>94323650
He really got that barely restrained rage down pat. That's something no other Punisher actor has ever really touched upon: the "Tyger" burning bright beneath Frank's surface.
>>94323502
If you were to make a graph comparing time to quality for Hellboy, it would be a steady incline up. The early years of Hellboy are literally Mignola's first attempts at published writing, and on top of that the ideas that surround the work arent fully soldified yet. Its still a very pulpy series (not that that's a negative mind you) compared to folklore heavy nature of the later books. However as time goes on it improves greatly, i'd say its one of the best examples of script and art working in tandem out there.
>>94312067
>Ryan Reynolds
>On Point casting
>>94323650
Frank's canon proportions are pretty dang difficult to achieve IRL. He still managed to pull off the big, intimidating Italian guy look amazingly well, probably just because a well-built Jewish guy is pretty much indistinguishable from your average Giuseppe.
>>94305001
This guy delivers a fantastic performance in every scene he's in. Autism meme be damned.
>>94321725
Bruce is literally the only actor on this earth that could do it, and the fact that he never will is deeply depressing. I mean the guy was practically created for capeshit.
>>94325694
What I would give to see a movie in the style of Who Framed Roger Rabbit with Bruce as the star
>>94301789
Could have been a bit more rough around the edges.
>>94326579
I think one of the biggest problems I have with that Constantine casting is exactly that:
His appearance is too clean, even though it's obviously designed to look ruffled and rough but still looks pristine. If they had a better costume designer it would've gone a long way
>>94323663
He was my top choice for Frank is Jane couldn't come back.
Bernthal knocked it so hard out of the park, it's transcended the solar system.
>>94303156
Perfection.
He's not comic accurate at all but this guy saved Arrow after one of the worst Seasons of any show in TV history so I have to give him some credit
>>94303001
>>94326905
>not posting slade or Merlyn
>>94323509
I've always felt that Renner was the most underrated actor in the Avengers cast.
>>94302640
>dat filename
>>94306394
>not wanting him as Wolverine
You missed the obvious casting choice there senpai
>>94303274
Yes, they do.
>>94326956
Yeah Slade is probably the second best CWverse villain after Wellsobard. Merlyn was great in Arrow Season 1 but every appearance after diminished his character.
>>94306360
I never liked the first one because of the shoehorned in human agent love triangle bullshit, that was even before I really got into Hellboy. The looks of the movie is great, the casting is great, but the story was obviously meddled with to make it appeal to a larger demographic.
What I'd really want is a serious B.P.R.D tv show following some human schmuck dealing with cults and ghosts, with the Hellboy stuff happening in the background and them maybe seeing him in the cafeteria or talking about the mission they had with him. Then you escalate it just like the B.P.R.D comic did.
>>94303274
>>94327309
In that case:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4XiHSVoE_0
Everyone's good, especially Teddy.
>>94325639
There's no way that Kingpin didn't have aspergers though.
>>94327309
sauce on this?
>>94302041
Shut up you redneck scum.
>>94305492
oh fuck off with this shit. I was a child of the 90s and I loved this shit but these fucking voice actors aren't the best at ANY CHARACTER. It's corny kids shit! Hammill- memorable but just sounds like someone's goofy ecentric grandma, Conroy FAILS at being badass and sounds like a totally pussy as Bruce, and the rest well... Only Two-face stands out. Gtfo
>>94306394
that short little squirt? Fuck no.
>>94322940
Cheadle comes across as the least badass hero in human history. Such a fucking dork
So perfect he became the go-to Shaggy in the cartoons, too.
>>94301863
Hey guys, remember when Ultimate Spiderman re-cast Simmons as JJJ, but then they gave him exactly zero (0) funny lines?
wasn't that great?
>>94322889
>Toilet fight
>Eggs on my face!
>Melting a kitten to show evil
>"This City... This city provides for me..." Throws a snowball at the dudes with automatic rifles
>"Have you seen this woman?!" Photocopy of her butt.
What a ride.
>>94306968
Man, Dredd was such a good film, it's a shame it didn't do well enough.
>>94302716
you think they'll do the dickhead thing?
>>94318389
honestly, no.
His character in S1 was excellent, but it was not "perfect casting" in the same sense as other characters in the thread. His character was GREATLY re-written, basically built from scratch, to have very little to do with Eobard we know and love. Were he to play the more faithful adaptation of Eobard, it would fall flat.
>>94328180
wew lad
>>94318389As good as Wellsobard was as a season 1 twist, I still think Matt Letscher is the better casting as regular/not-in-the-middle-of-an-undercover-keikaku RF
>>94323631
>DORMAMU, I'VE COME TOBIG GUY
>>94310049
/co/ is fine with race bending if the actor is worth a shit. No one cared when they changed Heimdall in Thor either, because the actor was good.
>>94302943
OF COURSE!
>>94328713
>No one cared when they changed Heimdall in Thor either
Nigga we still get butthurt posts about it ruining their "heritage". They're not all from /pol/.
>>94312067
If you replaced Hal with Kyle maybe, but Hal Jordan he certainly was not. Strong was great as sinestro though, too bad he won't get another shot.
Best Odin
>>94318389
Matt Letscher was the superior eobard. Cavanagh always talks and acts the same way unless he's playing H.R.. Look at Matt in the flashpoint episode, he's exactly like comics thawne.
>>94301958
I'm happy this was posted so early. I miss Christopher Lee.
>>94328598
I can just picture him going "Look what you DID."
>>94306380
>>94306275
What about Colin Farrell?
>>94318898
>Strange ends with Strange never coming out of the time-loop, sacrificing himself for the world
That'd be pretty mindblowing after the other marvel movies where nobody dies when trying to sacrifice themselves.

Right.
What about Velma??
>>94318389

Idiots he's referring to the Eobard acting. The Flashpoint episode, and all of S2 LoT showed that Wells wasn't even the best Thawne.

Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/WS
Chris Pine as Steve Trevor

That movie was 14 years ago. You could have been four when that movie came out and not be underage. Nostalgia always beats out current racebending bitching. If they did it today, there'd be endless threads.

I think this is the first time I like a girl better as a blonde than with dark hair.

>Merlyn
He stopped being good after season 1. He was somewhat decent in LoT s2 but that's it.
>>94318389
I disagree. But thats probably because comic Thawne is so unrealistically psychotic and deranged i cant see any actor playing it right. He could only fit in animation.

I pictured Donald Sutherland when I read it

I mean, imagine if WB actually put money and talent behind introducing Constantine like Marvel did for Iron Man in 2008.

>>94328965
Agreed
>>94305001
Knowing that he wasn't as involved in S2 killed all my interest in watching it.

>>94301789
He was good, but as >>94326579 pointed out, he was a little too clean cut to really nail it. As the show wasn't R rated (as it should have been - if it was dead anyway!) I guess they couldn't have the grubby Constantine showing off and calling demons cunts.
Though you get the feeling in the first appearances of the character, he was just meant to be average joe from Liverpool who also knew magic, rather than magical smoking tramp as some writers turned him into. He dresses very sharply in his early Swamp Thing stuff.

I hate the film, but this was pretty great casting

>Arleen Sorkin isn't the best Harley Quinn
Really makes me think.
>>94336824
Whoever told you that is a liar, Anon. He's very much involved in S2. Go watch it.
>>94322850
Maybe I was just so focused on how hard the directing mad him obviously bad that I did not notice the casting
>>94322832
Seriously how do people hate nightmare nurse? She's a great character
>>94305001
He's exactly like Ultimate Kingpin, it's awesome
cassidy is a 10/10 choice
On the other hand, I can't look at Jesse without seeing Angry Joe

casing got stuck in his collar
>>94334848
Gotta piss somehow.
>>94328565
Matt Letscher fits for classic Eobard.

That scene always gets me. The most devastating cry I've seen in a movie. Urban is underrated.
>>94328180
Is this bait, or are you legit retarded?
>>94341889
I was but a young lad when the LotR movies came out. It was my first exposure to what could I guess be called "real" fantasy. Karl Urban's performance as Éomer basically turned me into a fa/tg/uy overnight. Bernard Hill's Theoden as well. I still get chills at "Ride to ruin, and the world's ending!"
>>94328542
they better
>>94341889
Man, this just makes me irritated about how many of the little moments from the books they left out of the movies which show that Aragorn is, indeed, actually fucking magic.
>>94328180
>believing any of this
