Is it worth reading ultimate xmen?

It wasn't that it was bad.
It was just pointless.
It was utterly unconnected to anything beyond a superficial understanding of the X-Men franchise.
And they killed off so many characters so often that readers developed a thousand yard stare.

Some of them.
Nightcrawler in blue and gold was his best costume ever.
That one time Quicksilver showed up in the purple Magneto helmet...
But for the most part it was just gold pouches on blue shirts.
(there's a StarTrek joke in there somewhere)
Some of the power redesigns were nice too, Blob was actually scary, Angel was impressive as just a guy with wings, and Kitty got hard.
But story-wise it was all flash and no substance.
And without story there's no point.

We can agree its the best of the Ultimate Universe right?
