Fox has access to great female characters (in X-Men), but fails to use them well (same as males). Storm is great, Jubilee is great (barely did anything in Apocalypse, I didn't even remember her being in X2), Psylocke is cool (did nothing in Apoc, bad actress although still hot and the costume was good), Storm is great (Halle Berry was meh, the new girl is hot and at least they did a little with her background, thief, Egypt, etc.) White Queen is sexy (probably the character most fucked by wonky continuity). I liked the Jean Grey/Cyclops interaction in Apocalypse and it looks like they are finally gonna do Phoenix for real. I know people didn't like her acting, I thought it was fine. Famke was great although they fucked her over in X3 and screwed up Phoenix.

Basically Fox throws way too many characters into every movie so we have no time to get to care about them.

MCU women suck so far. Black Widow should be Russian. Scarlett Johanssen was hot although she is getting up there in age now. She can't act. Whedon screwed up the relationship with Hawkeye, threw in the Hulk thing and 'I'm an infertile monster' out of nowhere. Scarlet Witch is good although her new origin is dumb. That's it for movie women except for the girlfriends. They're all pretty hot, oh and Kat Dennings has a nice rack. Valkyrie should be blonde and white, wtf. Gamora is meh, Nebula is a loveable bitch, Mantis is cute but nothing to do with the comics. If we are counting TV I like Quake, and Jessica Jones is well-defined but a bitch. Deborah Ann Woll is gorgeous.

DCU only has Wonder Woman so far. She has been the single best female character of all 3 studios. Faora was awesome. Amy Adams is hot but looks nothing like Lois Lane should. Doctor Poison managed to be both over the top evil and sympatgetic.

Tl;dr:
Fox: best selection of characters but does nothing with them.
MCU: Mostly suck except for TV and a couple of GotG girls.
DCU: Best character, others are promising but we're only 4 movies in.

Olsen is able to convey vulnerability really beautifully (hugely important when playing such a powerful character), and Wanda is one of the very few comic book characters who is an introvert. Her being quiet is a result of her tendency to look inward, and her feeling out of place.

In AoU Whedon plays up her "weirdness" at the expense of her realness, and her most human moment (Pietro's death) is undercut by quipping.

In Civil War she's able to ground Wanda much more, thanks to the Russo's and Markus/McFeely there's an emphasis on Wanda as a person. Olsen never plats her as "stronk woman", she plays her as human.

Wanda doesn't quip because she cares too much to do that (T'challa does not quip due to the responsibility he carries on his shoulders).

Scarlet Witch is the best superheroine Marvel Studios currently has (and they can introduce and explore her mystic lore which Fox cannot), and She-Hulk is the only other they have who can really connect with audiences.

They either lost and or shat on their golden girls, and favoured the most boring one.

I suspect they will make Carol so stupidly OP that she ends up being as unrelatable as KSD's ubersmench Mary Sue. Nicole Perlman pretty much admitted they have poor material to draw from.

The opportunity to truly exploit Natasha has likely passed, but a BW movie could make for a great spy thriller.

Does have great potential, especially as Avengers leader, as well as alongside Scott's AntMan. Could replace Black Widow as the low powered stealth member of the team.

Universal is likely the biggest barrier. Of all Marvel's heroines, she could be the most popular by far, if they draw upon her 4th wall breaking antics and comedy.
