It's not actually a problem unless you take everything to absolutely retarded proportions (e.g. the comics with "everyone is a planet buster") in which case the sheer amount of energy is too much to ignore. That villain's hands do not actually move faster than or even as fast as a high speed round (though a full body blow has a lot more weight and momentum behind it), and has a much larger surface area. Unlike a bullet, his blows also accelerate her entire body, launching her, rather than generating a piercing effect from the inertia of the body holding the rest in place while the area of contact is forced to move. It seems potentially reconcilable with the idea that WW's skin is not super duper hard, or is otherwise not protected by a forcefield, but she has shock resistant organs and super strong bones. The films seem to be reconciling this by A. downgrading everyone to a more generally sane level, and B. making sure Wonder Woman is rarely if ever actually taking punches directly from Kryptonian-level beings anyway. The strongest person she's been punched directly by is Ares. For Doomsday and Steppenwolf, she always seems to be either dodging or using her bracers and shield to block.

The problem with that is as the energy involved increases impacts with greater surface area will function more and more like a bullet. A 9mm has a velocity of roughly 1200 ft/s and 500 J of energy. A 2-bore rifle will launch a half pound of lead with a velocity of 1500 ft/s but 23,700 J of energy. Any decently superstrong character would be able to punch a hole in her. Making it so she has to dodge attacks or rely on her equipment to not die makes her a shitty Flash/Batman, except Batman has the decency to wear full coverage body armor.

It really doesn't. Every time I see someone write Wonder Woman as a bloodthirsty warlord it doesn't even seem like Wonder Woman, it's just way out of character. The entire point of having one of her enemies be Ares is to juxtapose Ares' lust for death and violence with Wonder Woman's desire to see peace and love.

Instead it's become chic to make Wonder Woman into a cold, angry deathmonger who jumps at the opportunity to hurt people and fight people. It's baffling to me how anyone could come to this conclusion from her previous iterations that this was how Wonder Woman was meant to be. She's like if Evil Superman had become the standard for Superman. She's just the exact opposite now of the purpose of the character to not focus on the violence and bullheaded destruction of men.

But comics at this point are being written by people who actually seem less capable of abstract reasoning than children, and so the only way they can think of portraying a """"""strong"""""" female character is through violence and death instead of using the character's power and strength to enforce peace and love. There's literally no reason for Wonder Woman to be killing anyone in her day-to-day crime stopping because all she has to do is crush the person's weapons and bring them to the police station. The point of super powers in comics like Superman's or Captain Marvel's or Wonder Woman's is that it gives them an ability that normal everyday heroes like policemen and soldiers don't have, to stop crime, violence, and war without killing everyone because they simply don't need to. Having Diana (or any of those heroes) go out of her way to kill someone she doesn't have to is so destructive to the character I can't comprehend how the person who penned it was ever let anywhere near DC authentication to publish their work.

Diana essentially should be the embodiment of "I'm not mad at you, just disappointed." There's a huge spectrum of ways she can be philosophically separate from Superman even with a similar powerset and not breaking the necks of every man, woman, and child who crosses her. Even within those parameters it's easy to approach things from different places.

In Batman's case he's different from those two because his challenge is that he does not have "super" powers on the same level as Wonder Woman and Superman but he chooses to approach most situations in non-lethal ways anyway. So because he can't just block everyone's bullets and crush their guns and tie them in a magic lasso he instead has to use incapacitatingly extreme violence and methods and stops short of killing them.

Then there's characters like Punisher who have no qualms about killing everyone who lifts a finger to hurt other people. Wonder woman has drifted further and further towards Punisher for a while now.

The ONLY difference between Batman and Wonder Woman in regards to killing is that DC's marketing department doesn't have a hard rule that Wonder Woman doesn't kill. But they also don't have a hard rule that Superman doesn't kill.

Superman has not only killed more people than Wonder Woman has, but he's killed more people when he actually had a choice, whereas Diana has never killed anyone unless it was 100% necessary to save a life, and even then she usually verbally shows regret.

He was shunted from foster home to foster home until he ran away and fell in with a gang, starting his life of crime. Then we see him in prison, in group therapy. He says nothing. Wonder Woman comes to visit him and convinces him to get help and try to get better. He asks why she cares, all snide and condescending. She replies that criminals need saving too. He starts participating in the therapy, and then he's released on parole for good behavior and on the condition that he continues therapy. He looks noticeably less mean and snide. The book ends with him making an online dating profile.
