Calvin's expression is fairly distinct, but its overall much blurrier than the webcomic overlay, which is has an almost perfectly visible head and face. There's a difference between drawing consistently and on model and just straight up copy/pasting the same face. They pretty much proved the webcomic detractor's exact point.

That's actually one of the biggest complaints I see levied against dobson, actually. Is that when criticism, even constructively, or ANYTHING to try and help him improve is offered, it is rejected. A second-rate artist draws himself as more attractive female version of himself. This person has an associate who has trapped several women in a room, bound them, and is torturing, disfiguring, and ultimately killing them for sexual gratification. Swept up in his own murderous lust, the killing blow being a literal kiss of death, the artist's avatar succumbs to the violent sexual perversions and is doomed to a violent end. At the absolute second of death, the avatar's co-conspirator suggests they embrace their pseudo-sexual demise and the avatar does so.
