TL;DR: how do I into Dr. Doom?
So, I've been reading some marvel stuff, mainly from 2000 to now, with some occasional older classics.
He has appeared a few times in the story arcs I read, but mainly as a secondary plot/character and just passed by to say hi.
He seems like a cool character, a cross off Dr. Strange and iron Man, arrogant, but with the means to back it up, and I would like to read more about him.
He is portrayed as a bad guy most of the time? He seems (from my limited experience) like just someone who wants the best for his country and won't accept shit from others... Is he evil?
His main stories I read were the Dr strange and Dr Doom one where they go to hell free his mother (and okays the devil did it), and his recent infamous iron Man stuff.
How do I learn more about him? What are his best stories?

I've always been fond of OG Doom's characterization, I'd personally recommend with reading up on his earlier appearances first before witnessing how he gets flanderized from "too smart to be a "bad" dictator", to "literally the only possible man who could bring peace and order to the world"

It's strange to think that Doom is a hero in the current Marvel screwup-setup. And that's with how they're writing their heroes and villains now, not about the comic where Doom tries to be a heroic Iron Man!

As for recommended reading for Dr Doom, just pick up anything that has Doom in it. I'm fond of the Books of Doom, Doom 2099, and various Fantastic Four issues. I liked those X-men time travel comics where a future Cyclops goes and talks with an elderly Dr Doom in hiding.
