They had evil books on every subject; by law, EVIL law, there was required to be at least one 70% proof evil book on every subject.

70% because it was very difficult finding enough evil paper to print it with, but evil ink existed in abundance.

OK, let's see what I can think up with the /co/nstruction crew.

The Foreman - He's their /co/llective representative, their contract negotiator, the man who was selected to keep things running smoothly, and also really is their foreman. He was scouted by the /co/llective because he had the most experience dealing with repairing damages caused by supers and also practical leadership experience from being a foreman already.

Toolchest - Originally he was a normal family man, still has his wife and kids to come home to. A magical blast from a wizard merged him with a tool chest, at first it wasn't pretty, but one of those super groups managed to get him back to human form with the added benefit of his insides being bigger than his outsides and still with all the durability and usefulness of a tool chest. He went to the /co/llective to find new work and got trained by them.

Bricktop - He tried his hand at being superhero at one point, but it just wasn't him. He tried finding a use for his powers elsewhere, but it always attracted too much attention and other weirdos trying to come recruit him. The /co/llective was one such group, but they were the only ones with a legit website, health program, and legal documents of authenticity.

Rebar - Would it be something-ist to assume he is of Native American decent? Because that's what he looks like to me. Maybe one of his parents married a super and got off the reservation, or maybe he left the reservation because he felt his powers weren't appreciated or being put to good enough use there. Whatever the reason, he probably found work through the /co/llectives AA-like meetings.

Steel-Toe - Another guy who tried his hand at being a super with his modest super strength. He got in too deep when his younger brother put on a magic mask that made him invulnerable, but he can't get it off. So they both ended up at the /co/llective looking for a way to remove the Hardhat. Steel-Toe was talked into doing legitimate work which was much easier on him than having to fight costumed weirdos or monsters outside of his pay grade. They might have ties to Carnevalor's city since a magic mask is involved.

Cement-Clops - He really hates his powers, like a lot. He came from the "mutie-belt" that mid country strip of land where supers just spontaneously came to be sometimes. So he double hates his powers for the trouble they caused him there with how much the locals irrationally hate supers for reasons not even they can't explain. He moved hearing people of his talents were appreciated elsewhere and found work through the /co/llective before he had a chance to turn into a terrifying supervillain.

Girder - He used to work at a hydroelectric dam as a maintenance guy before a super fight happened there which overloaded the turbines and gave him the shock of his life. Now he's magnetized. The /co/llective trained him how to get his new powers under control and got him the job he has now.

Arc-Weld - He's been around the super block a few times. In his youth (which wasn't that long ago) he occasionally found work with mob bosses and other such villains for his particular set of skills, namely his burning fingers. He didn't much like the idea of using them on flesh and left that kind of life behind him.

Rosie - She came out of retirement because it was boring and she was still plenty strong.

High Rise - Tried making his fortune as a sideshow attraction or a street performer, but wasn't that great of an actor. He was scouted during one of those big Mardi Gras parties.

Glazier - Doesn't talk much, seems to always be chewing gum, but it's actually glass. He's had his powers since he was young, so making friends was always a challenge. His parents wouldn't let him sign up for any of those super camp programs either. He wanted to audition for the Youth Coalition, but dodged a bullet there. He was working in a custom glass shop, but wanted to go bigger and now entire skyscrapers are his canvas.

Heavy Duty - She's actually a technomancery, or has the powers of one. She dislikes working with code and prefers simpler machines leading to her current employment. Not computer illiterate by any means, she just doesn't like all the tiny delicate work needed to for those types of jobs.

Day Labor - Comes from a big family of supers, has a famous Justice Coalition grandfather, but really, REALLY didn't want to get into that lifestyle seeing how messed up some of his other family members were.

That's what I got anyway. Any thoughts? Good? Bad? Toss it? Keep it?

I can think of all sorts of mundane uses for being able to turn your body parts into machines/appliances/mechanical things.

Having hammer space inside your chest probably makes carrying things around for your wife while shopping much easier, though you might get mistaken for a shoplifter.

Being able to make yourself super tall must have some kind of use. For one you never need a ladder.

The problem is getting from there to the punch line which would be the crooks are avian themed and were after the blue feet of a certain bird.

The problem is finding a way to make that funny. The airbag being smaller than her, or her being used as a cushion beforehand tread the line of how blatant it can be.

What IS her power anyway? I always figured that she's a bruiser type, given the gauntlets, bare foot, muscular build, and gauntlets.

I remember there were old pics that had her still in school while doing super heroing, I think it was meant to imply that she changes appearance when "in costume" since she has no mask. Something like the Billy Batson deal, where with her powers she has a full muscular adult body, but without it a normal teenage girl.

I also remember someone mentioning that she gets her powers from the gauntlets, and she got the gauntlets from one of those mail-in coupons put in old magazines.

Again these were all on old pics so maybe not up to date?

I like the idea that the gauntlets manipulate gravity in such a way that it gives her super strength. It would make sense, and has a lot of future potential if the gravity fields can be manipulated.

Only thing I don't understand is that, on some pics she has a more petite body type (and not in costume), while the ones that have her in costume usually also have her way more muscular.

They could just recharge naturally in some way that just takes time. Basically I'm looking for a way where she's not totally invulnerable 100% of the time. Some sort of weakness.

Easiest solution is that it has a self regenerating power source, that stores built up power internally up to a point. But burn off too much of that power too fast, and it wears out the regeneration, to the point that it becomes less and less effective.

This could allow for stories where she uses up everything in some heroic effort, then her days as a hero are over, until she finds a way to regenerate power, etc. Also, to fluctuate power levels.

If they can be charged from any source of electricity then she is basically Iron Man. Hook her up to a wall outlet to syphon out a small countries worth of power, and she's good to go again after using up everything. I don't like that idea.

Also, how heavy are the gauntlets? If they are completely depowered, could she fall into a situation where she is effectively immobilized, due to being unable to get out of the gauntlets, which are too heavy to lift when not powered up?

Her being in high school is part of the Awesome /co/ventures series, but that's since abandoned (do not confuse it with Amazing /co/ventures, different continuities).

But! I can guarantee that in the upcoming months she will have her own chapter with plenty of characters from these threads involved! It's pretty much gonna be the comic I was making of her, but re made.

Man, it's been 4 years since I've created this character, feels good to finally put her to some good use, and I hope to assume that you guys have made some more characters in these 4 years as well.

So the story before this is the world has gone through the apocalypse or some other Mad Max desert-ification while our titular wine-elf was blacked out.

She and her succubus sister are now on an epic quest to get to the vineyards of California because wine is life.

But I don't have the opening pages saved, so you get what I have.

That's a common issue with people drawing Briana.

I mean, as an artist you usually are trying to draw breasts of female characters more 'natural' and not of comical size.
But in this case you ARE supposed to be drawing a pair of ridiculously large cannons, so your normal practiced skill as an artist works against you subconsciously.
