At the very least the Emoji movie has the luxury of an idea so godawful that it's unique. Norm is like someone took a parody of the generic animated kids movie and made it for real.

I saw Emoji Movie with my friend last night and Norm of the North last year during my job as a camp counselor on a "movie day." (Day where it rained)
Emoji movie is a competently made but bad movie due to an inherently bad premise and over meddling producers. The surreal factor and self deprecating humor carries it.
Norm of the North is absolutely terrible and is easily the worst animated movie I've ever seen.
