Honestly, the writers at the time REALLY hated her. They took her powers away, her back story became nonsensical, they raped her, made her pregnant and gave her the personality of a Femi-Nazi.

There is nothing from this era you should look back on fondly. Not in regards to Power girl at least.

They changed Power Girl's origin almost as many times as Donna Troy's.
The post-crisis Supergirl was pretty bad though. She was a shapeshifting clone created by a Lex Luthor from a "pocket dimension" (Because alternate Earths weren't allowed Post-Crisis) who came to Earth after the dimension collapsed. Later on she got badly hurt and did a Doctor Who regeneration into a version that looked more like the animated series Supergirl. Somewhere along the line Peter David added some "earthborn angel" bullshit.
