Platinum Grit is one of my favourite webcomics that I've ever read. Honestly, I thought maybe I just liked it because I first read it at an overly impressionable age but I've gone back several times and the writing is incredibly tight: it's still really funny, the characters have great and clear voices, the conversations flow incredibly well.

I was so into this comic and where it was going - it's one of the only webcomics I can think of that successfully shifted from a primarily gag set-up into something still comedic but also successfully dramatic and engaging - and bam, over.

Trudy Cooper is now way more famous for Oglaf than she ever was for this, which is fine. I like Oglaf. But if you like Oglaf and haven't read PG, you need to understand Oglaf is like shit you scrape off your shoe in comparison.

For a change in tone, there's 'Love Me Nice'. It's 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' but focusing on the slice-of-life of being a cartoon. http://lovemenicecomic.com/comic/001.php

Me too! we're probably around the same age. given the age of it. I wouldn't be suprised if it hadn't aged better than most of the other webcomics i had read at the time. at the very least it's probably more coherent than Sluggy Freelance

What did you think of the ending? I loved the comic, but the ending made me feel outrage, like, if that's honestly, 100%-guaranteed what the world was like... it'd be better to just get rid of it, I felt. I came to the exact opposite conclusion. for two reasons firstly, They went to hell, and it was fine. things are never as bad as you can imagine they can be.

secondly because they characters had a real arc and improved themselves despite their individual traumas. Pasqualo matured and helped untold billions of civilizations throughout his life, It's tempered by the horrible stuff, but it goes to show that things will never be perfect but that a better world is always possible

See, now that it's done, K6BD has filled the whole 'weird character designs and interesting waifus' niche for me. It's ironic, because I started reading Paranatural around the same time, so I was able to watch Abbadon's gradual improvement into a Abrahamic/Buddhist version of Martin Handford, as well as Zack's slow descent into a lighter version of Aaron Diaz.

I enjoy 'It's a hard life'; it's based on a pokemon nuzlocke run, hand-painted and somewhat dramatic. I thought it was dead but when looking for a nice page I discovered the author is back on it
