That and how much you let it consume your life.

I don't have any figurines around the place and only one show's DVDs for instance. Liking anime has very little relevancy on nerdiness.
>>
>>94221612
Makes sense. Miyazaki films, for lack of a better way of putting it, are basically Japanese Disney to the uninitiated, yes? So even schmucks who couldn't care less about Nurutu could vaguely recall scenes from Kiki's Delivery Service or, "The movie with the cat bus". Not only is Attack on Titan massively popular in Japan, apparently it struck a chord to the tune of One Piece and Naruto.
>The first season of the anime was four years ago and the second season only started this April.
Damn.
>>
Everything bar Starwatcher is surface-level nerd culture
>>
>>94221735
I find the word "nerd" has become a buzzword anyways.
I mean, I enjoy stuff like Star Trek, Dr. Who, Pokemon, roman empire history, tabletop RPG, sim games, have a stem degree and work in the field, can laugh about xkcd (if it's not preaching), but I also like martial arts, weightlifting, swimming, have a social life, and enjoy drinking.

And I never understood why it's nerdy to know all Pokemon, but not nerdy to know all game results of a given team since EVER.

Exactly. I already had to drop Doctor Who after the first couple episodes of this last series, and I'm fully expecting "Discovery" to be a shitty, design-by-focus-group clusterfuck overrun with unsubtle mainstream political commentary and social justice bullshit.

This is what mainstream media producers do - they find niche shit and they mainstream it, they casualize it, they "modernize" it, and eventually the nerds and dorks who cultivated the interest and market for that stuff are ultimately driven out of their own communities.

It's happening with video games, it's happening with comics, it's happening with sci-fi.

And the Lead Discovery character is Spock's adopted human sister. Who does Vulcan shit better than he did without the stress of being pulled between his two dual nature.

Also straight up written as the most important person in the universe.

And something about how they couldn't swear "Goddam or God Damn" and such because Star Trek Future Earth doesn't have gods. Which actually makes them the odd race out considering every other fucking race believes in a higher power.

Discovery gonna be a mess for sure.

As a spic I agree, its the worst of the english community without the good. (I mean statistically there are some good people in it but you get my point). I think part of the reason is how "far" from the source material we usually are.

As for teh dubfights I 100% agree, although dub autism did give us a few good things like some full versions of anime themes sang by the original dub singers.

If a person actually knew every game result of a given team ever it would be seen as at least odd, but I get what you mean. The reason is just that one thing is more socially aceptable than the other.

That said, pokemon is being seen as not nerdy (or as "I'm such a nerd XD but not an actual nerd" depending on the person) if you just stick to the first two gens. Recently this guy in my japanese class who actively buys merch and plays the newer pokemon games dissed the competitive scene as too nerd. And he likes freaking pokemon. That many people can't seem to differentiate between emotion and logic.
That life is more horrible than previously believed.
That there is no true way to have an equal and balanced society until we have matter replicators.
That the greatest innovations will be delayed due to greed.
That even the greatest bastards don't have the vision to reconstruct society into something that doesn't equal more money.
That the internet still has people trying to control it.
That for all the goodness in my life I am still disappointed.

Isn't that what Moffat wanted?

There's a self-imposed limitation on the number of regenerations but that's been bypassed multiple times. Yes it will look human because we look like them; aside from two hearts and possibly some other shit. Time lords do not choose what they regenerate into but how they feel at the time affects it.

Well, Capaldi was having a tantrum and trying to deny reality when we last saw him.

>That life is more horrible than previously believed.

Hey, I feel the same way about that. We just have to try and make do with what we have, friend.

Did he get drunk and read Alice in Wonderland before regenerating? He seemed someone distraught when regenerating into Matt Smith because he found it effeminate.

1. capeshit
2. Star Wars
3. Star Trek
4. TARDIS ?
5. I think it's from Spirited Away but I'm not sure.
6. ???
7. ??? it looks like a Moebius design, though? Reminds me of Panzer Dragoon.

Technically he hasn't regenerated yet, as that is coming in the Christmas episode. Currently he is in a snowy place denying his regeneration in front of the "first" Doctor. I do like your idea, but remember that this is the modern day, so he would have to read something empowering.

If it weren't for the fact that I look too young, I would enter politics and try to make a difference.

>The chart maker is correct that even knowing who Moebius is immediately promotes you to supersperg, however.

Maybe nowadays, but there were a lot of average teens back in the 80/90's that learned of Moebius after renting the Heavy Metal movie from their local video store and discovering the magazine it was based off of.

>Comicbook movies
>One of the most well known trilogies in the world
>An incredibly popular Sci-fi show from the 1960s with many iterations and movies
>An incredibly long running and popular British Sci-fi show
>An intro to anime movie
>A popular contemporary anime
>Heavy Metal
It is easy to look at this and say
>What dumb wetback crapped this out?

Ideally the artist should have stuck to one particular thing.
You should make subtle references and not a literally line-up that begs
>Can you recognize all these IP?

Preferably it should just be a portrait of Ralph Bakshi with characters in animated movies he directed around him.
I am now aware Ralph Bakshi didn't direct Heavy Metal, but I understand how I made that mistake between Wizards and Fire and Ice.

How would you do it if it was just comics?
>1 - Marvel - Spiderman
>2 - DC - Batman
>3 - Image - Spawn
>4 - Darkhorse - Hellboy
>5 - Top Cow - Witchblade
What would you do for 6 & 7?
>6 - Valiant - Bloodshot?
>7 - Soleil Productions - Lanfeust?

At some point put
>IDW - Twilight Sparkle
Between all the edgy looking heroes for a laugh.

Put The Goon near the bottom.

Are you trying to trigger Frenchies? It's about as entry level as Astérix and nowhere near it in terms of quality. At least put Thorgal or Metabarons if you insist on putting in some entry Eurocomic at the height of nerddom.

Anon, it's the sort of series your dad read before you read it.
>>
>>94227862
I know, hence why I called it entry level, but nowadays it's at least more obscure than goddamn cash cow Lanfeust, and much better to boot.
Also my dad is a nerd.
