Well, it doesn't fit with the rest of the books in this setting. Not after we saw Nightcrawler waking up in a mass grave of recently-lynched mutant bodies like... a year or so ago.

Perhaps it would have been better if this were just some alt universe story with a gay Iceman where comparisons like that actually fit with the realities and the history of the world he wanted to create.
