In the original Pact comic, Darkseid was around to see the discovery of the element needed for Metron's chair, and when Apokolips and New Genesis went to war Darkseid turned it into a technowar where he started lobbing metoers and suns at New Genisis using machines. He also schemed pretty hard, so Darkseid is probably a big fucking nerd.
