Anyone else feel kind of sorry for the children of today?
In terms of media, they have so few original cartoons to work with. Most cartoons are either oriented for adults, or are reboots / rehashes of something "nostalgic" for 20-somethings. Animated movies are mostly sequels, and when they are original it's usually something godawful like the Emoji Movie or Norm of the North.
I shudder to think that TTGO which is in itself a reboot will be considered "nostalgic" and get its own reboot in like 10 years.
Anyone else want to get into animation for the sake of the kids?

Not really. They have the ability to watch shows from long before their parents were born and learn things quicker than any of us could have. They aren't tied down to cable and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of kids start growing up without cable as an influence.
The only ones who wish for more original shows that haven't been done so yet at all are only us old farts from generation Y (Baby Boomers and X can die in a hellfire). Generation Z doing fine. Generation Alpha will be superior to all, of course.

Let them suffer.

Generation Z(2010+) are complete idiots with horrible tastes who can't even google.

>2010+
Gen Z is from 1997 onward dude.
>>94179834
>1997
>mfw gen z
All I feel for them is loathing
>>94179834
Wait what? No those are the millenials, something completely different.
Then who's 2008/2011+ ?
>>94179834
Gen Z, huh? Well thank god I'm Gen Y, I guess
>>94179973
2011+ isn't gen Z, I know that much, because 1997-2010 aren't millennials. Millennials refer to people in their formative years at the turn of the century. Millennials are roughly 30 years old currently, and they were followed by gen Z.
I think people have been referring to the newest generation as screen-something, since they're born with access to Internet since birth. Like when I see a toddler trying to scroll a magazine cover like a tablet.

I was born in 1998 I don't know what the fuck you're talking about because my internet was stuck in the 90s I had dial-up in 2004 on a windows 98 and shit like that. I heard that ear piercing screeches. Technically I had internet but it was nothing but shit. To be honest it was just been going on Neopets and Nickelodeon in CN.com to play games. I didn't even have Cable, just watching endless VHS tapes. Smartphones and tablets haven't come out since 2008 to 2006 that's when you can make the cut off.
I'm sure you can say technically I had the internet but I might as well have had the internet back in 1995. It's when shit gets refined is on a generation is defined.

Essentially it's part of a government conspiracy to make us Western animation so bad that the only other option is Eastern Korean and Japanese animation for the sole purpose of making a new generation of all weeaboos
>>94179130
>Anyone else feel kind of sorry for the children of today?
>Feeling bad for the first generation that has access to near infinite pornography thanks to the tablets their own parents gave them
Boy they are going to be some mess up pervs when they grow-up
>>94179253
>Not really. They have the ability to watch shows from long before their parents were born
This. I grew up in the late 80's and early 90's, but thanks to the internet I have the entire Tennessee Tuxedo and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. I believe we had better quality art and animation in our cartoons back then, but there's nothing stopping the modern generation from watching it for themselves. If they want to settle for shit, then they can go right ahead. Judging by the popularity of the crap, they are happy with it.

No it's going to be the opposite actually. They'll be over saturated with it to the point of disgust and actively turn away from stuff like that. It's like inverse rebellion. Gen Z is already the most conservative generation since the 40s.
