I'll start.
The reason ZAGR is my OTP is because I really like the unique position Gaz is in when it comes to Zim; like her brother, she knows Zim's an alien, but unlike Dib, she also knows that Zim's completely retarded, and is more of a danger to himself than anyone else. In that vein, their interactions are less "Zim you're an alien I'm going to expose you one day" and more "Zim you're an idiot how do you even breathe." Also, unless one has something that the other wants, they don't really go out of their way to mess with each other, which is better than a lot of other characters get. It's an interesting position, and it's one that's kept me invested in this ship for fifteen years.
Now, I'm not nearly deluded enough to think that it would ever happen - it's Invader Zim, pretty much everyone canonically hates each other. But I'm absolutely fine with where it is now, and what few interactions they've had - especially in the comic - have been more than good enough for me.

The reason I even ship at all is because it's fun, plain and simple. People might call it autistic, but thinking about how different characters' personalities mesh together and coming up with horribly contrived situations in which they could get together is just part of the fun.
That my OTP is a stupid crackship is just an extension of that.

I found myself weirdly suspicious that the pair of Just Best Friends who looked and acted very much like the show creator's cartoons of herself and her husband were designed with some additional purpose in mind.

And so far, the characters' dynamic has been wonderfully pure. You can always feel how much they care for each other.

Of course, in the words of Solon, count no ship happy until its franchise is over, so I'm ready to be let down. Hoping not, though. It would be a such a loss.

Because in the time that they knew eachother, she was the closest thing he had to a best friend (besides Zim, although that isn't saying much).

They're also great individual foils to the titular character, though they share a number of similarities with eachother. Both are self-aware, resourceful and determined, but are overlooked due to the inflexibility of their respective societies and often end up getting the short end of the stick. Tak's need for recognition from the Tallest and an empire that she knows abandoned her parallels Dib's fruitless ambition to impress an uninterested parent and an equally unforgiving world of ignorance.

It would be interesting to see how they interact if forced to work together in agreement; one keeping a gun to the other, but warming up to eachother over time as they bond over their repeated victories and failures.

But, yeah, like pretty much every ship in this fandom you need some mental gymnastics to make it work. But then again, like >>94168615 said that's part of the fun.

You could probably chalk this up to being nostalgia. Still, this was one of my OTPs growing up. Crossovers in general were always fairly interesting to me and I'm always a huge fan of character interactions in these crossovers, whether it'd be platonic or romantic. I was in elementary school when I discovered this ship and I was just discovering the internet back then. So I ended up adopting the idea that they could be a couple. The only thing I wish for now is that this pairing actually had some good material for it.

I know Bleedman did some stuff for this pairing, but it was in a really shit story in retrospect and neither of them acted like how they should. The fact that their chemistry boiled down to "we're both smart and we both have dead sisters" was aggravating. I like to see them clash egos only to eventually form a bond through intellect and the desire to do good for the world. Maybe it's just me being autistic, I dunno. In any case, this is probably one of my classic OTPs.

Both of them were raised from birth to carry out a specific purpose, which is what drew them together in the first place. Jack spared and then saved her life while showing her the beauty of the world and the truth about Aku. Ashi saved him from suicide, an entire army, and her own Mother, eventually giving up her existence to help him complete his quest. Plus, they both kick serious ass together.

Basically, she was the first thing in fifty years to make Jack happy, he was the first person in her life to show her love, and they deserved a better ending.

Second chances, hope, forgiveness, realising your mistakes and working to improve oneself, introspection, those sort of things. Conflict and forbidden feels. Hero-villain dynamics. I just really love that shit

I love this pairing too. I'm also what feels like one of the few anons who legit liked the ending.

I love how the tree at the end is a callback to the lone tree he first showed her in Aku's wasteland, except now surrounded by vibrant life instead of death. I thought it was a great indication of the scope of her impact, and also the notion of her sacrificing herself to make his world beautiful again--something he sorrowfully mentions he feels he'll never experience again--was something I found unbelievably romantic.

The NES ending was heartwarming so I wonder how they'll handle this one should they choose to portray it which it's implied they will due to Sypha's blush in response to Alucard's question on how she knew the legend ends. I love that dynamic too.

I know this series has tons of issues, but I really like how these two were handled in vol 4.
A lot of other relationships, possibly because of writing issues, possibly because of time constraints, or what have you, seem more stilted, but by giving them an event that bonded them together in their past they were able to circumvent that.

Love their dynamic, and their senses of humor. His deadpan compliments her excitability well.
Also I liked how emotionally supportive she's capable of being, and even without a semblance that quells negative emotion she's able to return the favor.
She was also notably traumatized and very quiet in that childhood flashback, and it's heartwarming to think that being around him is what brought her happy, perky side out of her.

That last scene is waved saved the finale from being a total bust in my eyes. The mood is just perfect, and the vocals always tug at my heartstrings, especially knowing what the words mean.

Obviously not the deepest, but Johnny has a good heart and Velma's adorable. And even with him being a manchild, I found it entertaining to see a huge buff guy falling head over heels for a bookworm type.

Also I acknowledge that some of this sentiment might be from feeling nostalgic for the old CN--these bumpers and Cartoon Cartoon Fridays were great, and made the network feel like a big family.

It's very interesting to me because of how they could potentially play off each other, Robin is serious, somewhat aloof and takes his job as a hero seriously. You can see this whenever anything related to Slade comes up, he'll always be the first one to respond and sometimes to his detriment(like in 'Haunted').

Terra is your typical young teenage girl,a carefree person who also lets her emotions get the better of her making her a easy target to manipulate,like how she felt betrayed when Robin found out about her inability to control her powers well and making her think Beast Boy let her secret out.The two of them are in many ways opposites of each other and this contrast between them makes it much more appealing to me.

Together, these two represent a relationship trope I always liked, two characters learning to accept one another and work with each other even if they don't like one another. I can imagine them entertaining the thought of escaping Slade's grasp, with the idea of doing it together lingering or them breaking into malls and playing in the arcade station(Terra's idea of course).

I like the way their personalities mesh work with each other. Gwen's responsible, cautious attitude and tendency to worry about things in future tempers and simultaneously is tempered by Ben's impulsive heroic's and his carefree go-with-flow attitude. Their teasing and banter is good and gets a little heated at times, but never malicious and I like their little rivalry for attention as heroes.

Pretty much entirely because one guy has written multiple very long fanfics of them. But I also think they'd get along very well, and despite being opposites in a lot of ways (science-magic, farm-city, humble-showy) they're both very upbeat and generally positive, and the whole "Zatara debuted the same time as Superman" makes me like Clark knowing her for a while. I'm also partial to shipping Superman with several different characters, and Zatanna with anyone who's not Batman or Constantine.

It also goes a long way in developing their characters. In their conversations Vriska went from being a completely irredeemable bitch to a complex and, if not sympathetic, at least engaging character. It was an outlet to explore her character in a positive environment, which is something her character was sorely lacking.

Fir John it SHOULD HAVE been a tool to help with his arc involving his lack of agency, as Vriska repersents the polar opposite, someone who burned her life to the ground to maintain control of her path. Except John has no arc, so that never really happened.

Also, if I'm being honest and without self respect, they're cute together and it makes me happy.

Very little, I think. They'd get to call themselves a couple, and mash various orifices together, but they've already got the fundamentals down: they like each other tirelessly, they're good for each other, and they're both willing to work hard to make their relationship - friendship though it may be - work.

And this is at fourteen! Too many married couples never reach what they have already! They're mature beyond their years maybe even including Marco's time with Hekapoo! when it comes to each other.

Well, almost. There's one more thing that would change: they'd fully recognize what they have with each other, and understand that they'd want to keep it for the foreseeable future. I want to see it happen when they realize the idea of getting together is NOT too good to be true.

I enjoy them equally as pals as I do a couple so I'm just gonna go ahead and say that most of these reasons will probably be pretty lame and would apply equally well to a platonic relationship as well but whatever;

I like Cable/Deadpool more for Wade than I do for Cable. Cable was one of his first good friends since Weapon X and was a major part in Wade deciding to redeem himself and try being a hero. Cable is generally accepting of Wade's antics and mental condition more than most people and seemed to genuinely accept and like Wade for who he is which is pretty rare, or was until recent years. Plus Wade does adore him in one way or another whether that's platonic or not and is attracted to him on some level. Whether Cable reciprocates is debatable.

I also like the TO virus/cancer parallels and the general feelings of ugliness and physical pain that both of them have experienced at one point or another because of their own respective diseases/conditions. They can relate to one another pretty well when it comes to mutual suffering and got a good dynamic. Also I gotta mention the fact that Shiklah is awful. I do like Domino however, even if I do prefer Cable with Deadpool over her for the sole reason that Cable's a bit of an autist and she seems to be better off doing her own thing than being tied down and she's my waifu , especially to a guy who's jumping in and out of time streams, which Wade doesn't mind since he's mentally fucked and a bit of a doormat.

Back in high school I thought up something I call "the billy/mandy theory". Basically that Billy and Mandy are drawn together.

Billy is a giant moron. His stupidity is so great that left unchecked he would innevitably cause untold destruction and the end of the world by sheer idiocy alone.
Mandy on the other hand is so controlling and domineering that if she had half a mind to she could probably take over all of society and twist it to her dark will effortlessly.
However because Mandy has to constantly keep Billy from destroying everything she has no time or energy to devote to taking control of everything. They effectively cancel each other out.
And yet despite that they are drawn together, perhaps by fate. They're best friends forever and probably as close as two people can be because they'll always be drawn to each other. Even in a future where Mandy has become immortal and taken over earth she feels herself compelled to continuously clone Billy to be her servant, despite the fact that he will inevitably betray her. In addition Boogie mentions that Mandy's ability to make use of Billy's idiocy is what makes her such a formidable foe. Mandy's basically the movable object to Billy's unstoppable force.

tl;dr: basically just a more extreme version of Dale and Nancy where Peggy realizes why they need each other.

Finn/Canyon (finnyon) is my favorite. She's a water elemental and has been around forever, so I don't think the age gap would be a problem. She also seems really chill. She's been around the block a few times, and is experienced and sure enough of herself to let finn take the lead when they quest. She also liked adventuring and heroes, since she was only interested in Billy when he was a badass. To me it's a toss up between her and huntress wizard for best girl for finn, but I feel like HW is a little too melancholic for finn. Canyon seems to be the type to encourage his old adventuring, dungeon crawling, giant monster fighting self.

They're effective because they can both play that role to one another. Dave can switch between a straight man and the insane one, so can Jade. So their back and forth ends up being great. I shipped them even before NMM, because I really liked what little we saw of their dynamic. Even if they were enemies, Pacifica was probably the first girl besides Mabel Dipper could talk to without dropping his spaghetti. Dipper was clearly mature for his age, but ironically wanting to be treated as such was his most childish quality. Wendy and the teens treated him like a little kid, and when he tried to convince them he was mature, that made him look more childish. Pacifica, though she didn't treat him nicely, treated him maturely, because they were both kids who were mature beyond their years. She teases him about being a nerd, and about his sister, but never about being a kid. That's why they banter so well. On the other end, Dipper serves as a challenge to Pacifica, something she's never had. She looks at Mabel as a nuisance, something to be brushed off. After Dipper gave her the file on her family, she knows he's more likely to challenge her. Even in the Mini Golf episode, Mabel only goes through with the challenge at Dippers insistence.
Dipper is surround by people he looks up to, Pacifica is surrounded by people she looks down on, but they see each other as equals.
Outside of that, I really like their personality dynamic. It reminds me of Question and Huntress from JLU. Dippers paranoid and inquisitive, and a bit of a know it all, and Pacifcas a little high maintenance, and more than a little starved for affection. It's very easy to see Dipper deep into his work only to be seduces by Pacifica into spending time with her. Pacifica would tease him about being, but Dipper would come right back about clingy she can be.

I'm a sucker for the cool rebel/bookish nerd dynamic. They're quite different and that's what makes it interesting, but I also think there's plenty of common ground between them too that makes it work. I also like their episodes together because they bring out sides of each other we don't normally see.

Finn/PB ain't exactly my jam, but the concept of it is so fucking choice.
Taking your standard knight and princess romance, then flipping it by having the princess not return the knight's feelings and be a very nuanced and morally complex character, while the knight goes from completely adoring her to realizing that she's more flawed and not nearly as sweet and wonderful as originally thought, but he's still completely loyal to her and she very much appreciates him as both a tool and close friend.

Just sometimes the show doesn't handle it the best, I can get the impression PB doesn't give a rat's ass about Finn, but if you try hard enough you can explain it away and it mostly works.

I liked them from the first episode they were in. Both grew up with piece of shit family members and it would've been great to see them interact more. It's a shame that the showrunners completely squandered Tootie, but at least she got quite a few great episodes.

They're pretty fun. Even though I ship it, I think it'd be best if they just have more little background moments and B-plots like the mall episode. Just have them seen together a lot with fun interactions and leave the rest to interpretation.

personally I'm thinking she'd find him very attractive both in looks and personality, and after a certain event in my concept would be very blatant in her pursuit of Finn as a lover

basic concept is that relatively early in Gert's journeys through Fairyland(if she's approximately 6 or so when she arrives,
and has been in Fairyland for about 30 years at the start of the original mini-series, this would be taking place about ~7 years into her journey, long enough to have picked up a lot of her habits & mannerisms and fighting ability, but before she reaches her lowest depths of depravity and immorality) she finds a portal to what she assumes is Earth and hops in,
except it's not her Earth, it's Ooo, leading her to meet Finn, due to not being in Fairyland anymore, Gert soon begins rapidly aging by the amount of time she's been in Fairyland before this divergence(so ends up at 13 or so),
and thus is capable of pursuing her newfound romantic feelings

for clarification on the Adventure Time side of the crossover I'm thinking it'd either be sometime in Season 2, or in Season 3 between Too Young and Finn first meeting Flame Princess

My idea is a lot differrent:
Instead of Happy, Queen Cloudia summons Finn in order to get Gertrude out of her realm. She demanded a Hero and he appeared, much to his confusion. The queen convices him that his services as a hero are needed and he agreed to fight Gertrude, believing that she's a villain. Then he meets her and realizes after a short fight that she's not willingly in Fairyland and offers to help her getting home.

Long story short, they fail. The reasons vary, sometimes it's Gertrudes fault, sometimes Finns, in some cases the Queen sabotaged their efforts, in others it was just plain bad luck. But they soldier on and Gertrude becomes less and less of a villain and more an anti-hero due to Finns ernest efforts to help and guide her, something that touches her to her own surprise. It also creeps her out because she starts to feel like she's robbing the craddle.

Eventually they end up as King and Queen of Fairyland. This gig goes better thanks to Finns work, but leaves the realm still in shambles and they move on, this time determined to finally get home. Only they are secretly having second thoughts because that would mean leaving the other.

Meanwhile Larry is running to a betting pool on how long Finn makes it before something kills him and leaves Gertrude all alone again.
Yeah, it's more that Finn ends up in Fairyland and both grow to care about each other.

I think the moment that Peridot reformed and Steven called her "cute" only for her to deny it with a blush on her face, that moment was when I was hooked for life.

I ship Stevidot because I think the relationship that was developed during Peridot's redemption arc was one of the show's strongest. None of the Gems trusted Peridot for very obvious reasons. Yet the mercy and patience Steven provides her allows her to help the group and eventually grow as a person. Steven was there for every stage of her development. He opened her up, taught her about Earth, and eventually became the most important thing on the planet to her. I think Gem Drill really captured their relationship with this.

"Steven, I'm sorry I couldn't save you or the billions of other lifeforms who matter far, far less to me. Do you have any last words?!"

"I love you, Peridot."

I love their dynamic. Steven is optimistic, cheerful, and is simple to understand. Peridot meanwhile was often cynical or dismissive, and while intelligent, she often didn't have the practical knowledge that Steven had. Peridot is interested and intrigued by a Gem so different than she had ever met and Steven is just willing to help and expose himself to someone jut for a chance to help them.

Little known fact, since Steven was born in August (Crewniverse confirmed it I believe) his birthstone is Peridot. I've be meaning to write a one shot where they figure out and cuteness happens.

I'm no good with words, but these two really stood out to me, so much to the point where I wasn't really interested in Matt/Elektra's story nearing the end of Season 2.
Just the mutual respect and the relationship that they build up throughout the season was an enjoyable experience. Felt a lot better than Matt/Karen too

i just hope they don't mess up their relationship in the new Punisher series

I only really ship the reboot versions of them, but it was great to watch their relationship evolve from sort of enemies to close friends there and to see in particular Querl learn and mature enough to make the whole thing work. And I really like that they have a dynamic where they tease each other and compete a lot but still have each other's backs as soon as they need to.
