Why would I apply for a job which doesn't exist?

Internships are the death of the workforce. When people are so desperate for a job that they will work for nothing, it's no wonder jobs are so difficult to find.

But Marvel Editors do do their jobs. The problem is that Perlmutter gutted the editorial department back in 2011. One editor is doing the job that used to be done by 2 editors and 4 assistant editors. The reason so much shit goes through is because they're overworked, underpaid and working in shitty work conditions.

Well getting a job as an editorial intern won't help with that. You want to become a writer then you're going to have to do some writing. Find an artist to work with, pay them a standard rate if you don't want to share rights, and build out your portfolio. None of Marvel's current writers became writers because they were editorial interns. Being able to pour a cup of coffee doesn't mean you know how to write.
