This is a thread for people who actually like comics rather than just liking superhero media. Feel free to discuss any comics not published by Marvel / DC / Image / Dark Horse in this thread (not because they're bad, but because they can easily sustain a thread on their own and don't need to be in this thread).
What have you been reading lately?
What have you bought / ordered lately?
What are you looking forward to?

#43, #45 and #47 are the best ones they've done imo
Alternative comics are wankery. I like stuff with a good story now rather than that pretentious tripe I pretended to enjoy as a teen. Also, independent/alternative comics creators can't stick to a schedule if their lives depended on it. Have fun waiting years between issues and then when they finally arrive reading it in five minutes and it's shit.

You mean "indie comics"?
As in "doesn't exist, just like the Indians"

I hope you didn't pay money for that shit.
Looking forward to Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I'm a big fan of the series and every part of it I've enjoyed except 3 but the Nemo mini plus Providence redeemed him.
So while Surgeon X was a bit of a letdown, I'm pretty hyped for Berger Books over at Dark Horse. Definitely gonna try that new Ann Nocenti/David Aja joint, and that Mata Hari book by Beeby and the InseXts artist, which looks like it's gonna be the sexiest book of the year.
Also, Jim Mahfood can do no wrong and Magic Socks is still kicking all kinds of ass.
And the new Dredd 3D strip had a decent start. Looking forward to where it goes.

I remember seeing this around way back when, and assuming it was just low-level Heavy Metal cheescake, but I finally read it and it's great. Shakespearean even. And really well translated. I'm a little afraid to read the other two volumes because they only exist in English as fan translations.
