Huh. This actually isn't bad. It might just be me, but I think they toned down how annoying and high pitched Peter's voice was in the first one. In the episodes after he's more of an excited dork that just genuinely loves science than an insufferable know-it-all.

One thing that bugged me is the part where he tells that fortune teller that he's quick witted and charming. Pete was never egocentric like that. Animation is pretty fluid I think though it still looks stilted and plain in some instances.

Not bad. A better impression than the very first short. It still feels a bit kiddy compared to Spectacular, but it's an improvement over Ultimate.

Considering what we know from the first episode preview, it looks like the emotional core of the season will be with Peter and Harry's deteriorating friendship.

Alright, these were good, but mainly because they were retracing ground that's been covered a lot already. I'm still fully expecting it all to go down the shitter when they go full Anime Original especially when they start shoving in an entire possy of Spider-sidekicks. Spider-Man has always been best as a lone hero who rarely teams up with others, and it's that rarity that made those team ups all the more sweet when they did happen. Because I don't see it being much worse than Ultimate Spider-Man, and I'm all for TV adaptations with their own spin on things. Besides, it could work. For instance, Miles could be a slightly younger kid whom Peter acts as a sort of big brother figure for.

As for Venom Shock, you just have to balance it out properly. Just take away his Spider Sense.

Everything past part 1 was actually pretty decent. I'm kind of shocked. Everything building up to this show looked like crap. Though, not showing Uncle Ben at all before his death kind of makes it hallow.

Miles only had a cameo to set him up. There's a lot of plot between the opening fight with Scorpion, Peter getting used to Horizon, doing a favor for Harry while there, and fighting Smythe's Spider-Slayer by the end.

Heck I'm pretty sure the the Parkers are Irish American like Captain America.

I like it more than I thought I would, I think it has neat ideas like Pete actually observing himself as a scientist, I felt like that part always went without saying, but emphasis on that is something that helps it to distinguish itself from other shows.

Humor is shit, it never feels like "Pete is nervous and tries to lighten up the mood for himself", it just feels like writers are up their own ass and think they are funny. This emphasis on 5 steps also is a bit of downside too, while it's cool it tries to teach kids something, you can repeat one thing only so many times. Animation is sometimes ok, sometimes complete crap.

It's marginally better than Ultimate Spider-man, but I don't see it raising to the highs of 90's Spider-man or Spectacular Spider-man.

Interesting choice in having Peter let go of the burglar BEFORE doing the wrestling match. It also brings back him being arrogant as the reason he lost Uncle Ben, as opposed to stuff like Raimi, ASM movies, and Spectacular, where it's small, petty revenge after getting screwed over.

This seems decent. I like the character designs and the voice work is passable. Delightfully surprised they went with the Raimi origin. This could shape up into something great.

Only complaint is that they still can't get wrestling right. Peter didn't pin or submit him. They're just quick to make him champion. It wasn't even a title match? It was just some kinda wrestler game show. This just triggers my /asp/ergers.

Got hopes up with cool looking hoodie costume, and was sad to not see it yet glad to see the classic suit again. Also good to see those web shooters.

His over all wide eyeness made me smile, and remember being a kid. The science included, but man they man him autistic in this one. lol

All the selfie angles kinda irked me, because it was obnoxious along with who has a secret identity on a hackable device? Makes me fear for today's youth.

I liked the fact of how they divided the episodes over the scientific notation, and can appreciate the adaptation for 4min webisodes. Yet at the same time there was something unnatural about connecting the episode's pacing to the notation.

The ending still made me tear up, and so all in all to make me feel joy and emotion despite all the little flaws is pretty impressive.

The thing is, instead of going to a regular high school, he goes to Horizon High, so he's in a school of super geniuses like Hary, Miles, Anya, Gwen, even Otto Octavius. It's basically scientific Hogwarts, so the "normal" part of his life never gets to be "normal".
