Why do they have Ruffalo doing it? It sounds terrible. There's no meat in it whatsoever. It's just his voice digitally made deeper. Disney would have been much wiser to either keep Ferrigno in the role (his "Hulk smash" was fantastic in the 2008 movie) or bring in Fred Tatasciore. Ruffalo just doesn't sound right.

2008 movie didn't use Norton as the Hulk's voice. They used Ferrigno. Also, Norton was a much better Banner.

I mean Lou is 65, so maybe he's getting too old to do a full voice role instead of just a few lines.
Or maybe Ruffalo was cheaper.
Or maybe Ruffalo was asked to do it.
Or maybe it's some kind of attempt to have it seem like Hulk's personality is becoming closer to a merger of Banner and Hulk.
Or maybe Disney are hacks.
Or maybe they offered Lou the role but he turned it down for other reasons.
Or maybe they're pulling a Kojima and he'll do the voice in the actual film but not in the trailers.

I was more thinking that if Norton was still hulk at this point they'd be doing a similar modulation on his voice as they are doing with Ruffalo here. And sure out of everyone in Hollywood no one looks more like Bruce Banner than Norton, but that was a one chance kind of thing which obviously didn't work out, and performance wise I think Ruffalo does fine

I know Transformers are little more than guest stars to humans in Bay's movies, but he still is the icon of the series and the most recognizable character.
