Its great until it falls apart in the 3rd act.

Having said that, I think its the only good Superman movie we've ever gotten.

One of the best Superhero films ever made (despite the asspull ending).

The only bad parts are how Lex was always wearing the wig, and how Clark pretty much spent ages 18-30 being brainwashed by Marlon Brando.
Haven't seen the second one yet.

Love it. It's a little slow to get going, but once it does, it's some fine Silver Age-y fun. And I have yet to see a better Superman in any medium than Christopher Reeve.

More than just a phenomenal superhero film or Superman film, it's a brilliant movie all-round. Fantastic acting, great chemistry between the Clark and Lois, incredible music, lots of iconic sets and moments.

It's just a beautiful watch even if you're a film fan who doesn't care for superhero movies. Superman deserves nothing less than a film like this.

There's a tonne to love about the movie, Christopher Reeve IS Superman, Donner's direction is superb and the acting is fantastic too. And it was written by people who give a shit about Superman, it's a great piece of a Americana that, though timely, has strangely remained of all time.

It's not only one of the best superhero films, but it's one of the best films ever made.
