>Sony finally got tired of making no money compared to Marvel on what is the most well known superhero.

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/69368148/#q69368609
> this is just Sony saving face
> implying Sony didn't realize they fucked up and will just take the back seat to Disney's golden goose
>they will not fuck this up. everybody knows kevin is running the show now

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/69368148/#q69368777
>disney/marvel just bumped thor to november instead. they are in the driver's seat. they would not have done it if they don't influence the story
>sony is just saving face with that statement

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/71837507/#71857291
>Spider-Man reboot ... is pretty much just being made by Marvel, but Sony gets their name in the credits and a chunk of the cash

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/84788510/#q84790921
>Pascal doesnt have any say on this project and neither does SONY

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/92991276/#92991581
>Homecoming raking in 2 billion will sadly negate that.

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/92811355/#q92813875
>The difference is that Homecoming will make 1.5 billion dollars.

https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/93318002/#93318218
>If anything, SM: Homecoming is probably going to be one of the highest grossing MCU films to date because it's both MCU AND Spider-Man. It'll likely break the 1 billion point pretty fast.

>Box-Office:
>1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 (Over a billion)
>2. Spider-man: Homecoming (Over a billion)
>3. Thor: Ragnarok
>4. Justice League
>5. Wonder Woman (Wont pass 500 million)
>6. Logan (Wont pass 500 million)

How come before Homecoming came out it Sony had zero creative control and it was guaranteed to make a billion dollars, but after it released it was all Sony's fault and had a crowded release window with tons of competition?

Why did opinions shift on this movie so strongly?

Maybe they shouldn't have made Mary Jane Watson black hmmmm? Or Flash Thompson a skinny Indians hmmmmmmm?

>>94105950
That is the least of Spider-meme's failings
>>

The guy who plays Flash isn't Indian.

and yet it's still gonna make more than JUSTass League

>OP probably wasted precious hours of his life finding those archived posts

Do you really care that much about random idiots making erroneous predictions abut comic book movie adaptations in a website that was originally designed to discuss Chinese Puppet shows?

Do you really have to prove yourself to people who you don't personally know and that you won't ever see their faces?

Are you going to frame your epic posts and show them to your IRL friends and family to prove how you beat those stupid nerds that favors the comic company you don't like?

Man, this place is sometimes sad and depressing.
>>
>>94105447
So the chances are either that OP:
>Spend his entire afternoon searching on dozens of movie threads on the archives for posts to use in a thread to bitch

Or

>wrotte all of those clearly bait superlative posts (2 billions?) just to make this kind of bait thread later

Anyway, you are patethic and should go back to /tv/, reddit, or whatever place that enjoy sucking cock. Because: Why the fuck should I care?
>>
Is there a watchable cam copy out yet?
>>
>>94106231
>>94106305
So you is sayin' that although everyone foresaw the inevitable failure of Homecoming, one person made numerous posts defending it over a span of multiple years, then after Homecoming failed, went back to those bookmarked posts to pretend that everyone did not think Homecoming would fail?
>>
>>94106365
The theaters didn't even get watchable copies.
>>
I don't think Spider-Man "coming back to Marvel" was ever going to be the sole fix. You need good directors (and so much more) coming together to make any movie good. Raimi-Man 1 and 2 were great. 3 got destroyed by executive meddling. ASM were bad because Sony learned nothing since, but also lost Raimi's artistry. Homecoming is a step up, but Marvel being able to put their hands on this property wasn't the total triumph many people were expecting, or at least, I don't think so. But this is slightly off-topic, so excuse me for rambling.

sony was still involved, they had final say in the casting and veto power over the script. As long as Pascal and Feig are involved in any way (even just handing out sandwiches to the crew) Spidey will suck
>>
>>94107451
Basically, yeah.
>>
>>94105950
>Maybe they shouldn't have made Mary Jane Watson black
This.

Though Homecoming underperformed horribly which is a shame considering it had the best Marvel villain.

I wonder if Sony will want out now.

They could have had the perfect movie but went overboard with the diversity.
>>
>>94108108
Chirst, I think Peter was the only white kid in that high school
>>
>>94108108
Diversity had nothing to do with the movie being mediocre. It's just a meh movie, an all white cast wouldn't change that.
The only casting that really annoyed me was Flash, he should be a fucking athletic jock, not some skinny nerd, but that wouldn't have saved the movie alone.

>>94108038
Mary Jane is not black, Mary Jane is not in this movie. The MJ nickname was a one off joke for fans, Michelle is a loner and has no friends, so what "friends" would be calling her MJ? None, that's kinda the joke, along with the fact that Michelle is basically the opposite of Mary Jane.
If you racist faggots actually saw the movie you'd know that, then again it's not really a must see movie, so you're not missing much.

Overall, it seems to be doing better than Amazing 2 did. By the end of its run, it'll probably be more successful than Amazing 1. I wouldn't count on it surpassing Raimi-Man, though.
>>
>>94109568
I still need to go see it in theatres.
>>
>>94109568
And don't forget that it had a lower budget.

I don't think Sony will be that happy with this, but they are probably aware they'd would have done far worse.
>>
>>94109568
There's also the issue of China to consider. Though we can only imagine how badly piracy will damage its profits.

Im sure the movie is fine but I didn't like that Iron Man was in it and it REALLY looked cheap (even though its budget was pretty high).
I didn't see it. I'll probably catch it on tv later on.

I liked GotG1 (and it seems like a lot of people enjoyed it too)...but did they really think GotG2 was going to make more than a bill?? Thats really shooting the moon on that one.

Spidey is doing fine. War for the Planet of the Apes - the film you were using to gloat over Homecoming - is the actual film that's underpeforming.

>Alas, War for the Planet of the Apes earned just $5.9 million (-73%) on its second Friday, a massive drop from its opening day and another grim sign that the film will play (in terms of legs) less like Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and more like Star Trek Beyond.

>>94110340
Is Planet of the Apes underperforming or is it incredibly strong competition that is hurting Homecoming?

It can't be both, Disneyfriend.

Yes.

I don't know, anon. You tell me.

>>
>>94111261

All of them are underperforming against each other by opening meh then starting to drop on their second weekends. Spidey should have it easy if you don't feel strongly about watching Apes, a World War movie, emojis or Charlize Theron.
>>
>>94111329
Wait, does that even count as competition? I don't think anyone who watches Girls Trip would be very interested in Spider-Man.
>>
>>94109281
>It's not Mary Jane guyz! We swear! It's just MJ!!!!
She's a stand in.
She is suppose to be Mary Jane.
And because she exists, the Real Mary Jane can never show up.
